Hi Phillipa:
Tony Peake’s ITLAD theory consists of two basic hypotheses:

1. That LAD is a Time Dilation. That it is a highly
compressed dream which only takes microseconds to occur
objectively but is experienced subjectively in real
proper time. Thus LAD is actually life before death
which only appears to occur after death.

2. Further, Peake believes that there is an eternal re-run
of your life in this death dream… that you live life
over and over again until your life becomes perfected.

Peake’s theory has to be compared to the age old
traditional theory of Life After Death which you will find
in the Bible in I Corinthians Ch 15:35-55. St. Paul there
announces two nearly identical revelations:

1. That at the “last moment on the last day, in the
twinkling of an eye, you will arrive in Heaven in a
spiritual; body”.

2. As stated by Paul and elaborated by Augustine and Aquinas
Xtianity holds that this “spiritual body” will be
perfected to the point where it has “Beatific Vision”…
which is another term for having the perfect perception
of a perfect body, and this condition is defined as
being a condition of “eternal life”.

What we see is that Peake’s item 2, the “eternal re-run”
must somehow be an explanation of the Beatific Vision… and
indeed we will see that it is.

At this point enters physicist George Hammond. Hammond has
been working on a microtubule theory of life after death for
many years and to his astonishment he discovers the Peake
has arrived at the same conclusion but by a totally
different line of research.

Studying temporal lobe epileptic seizures and near-death
experiences and scores of other unexplained
neuropsychological phenomena, Peake concluded that this time
dilation was caused by an infusion of glutamate In the brain
which caused a highly magnified temporal lobe epileptic
seizure condition. Hammond’s methodical decades research on
the other hand had concluded that the final virtual-reality
dream state was caused by a microsecond download burst from
the brain’s cytoskeleton/microtubules at Froehlich’s
frequency which is known to be a billion times faster than
neuronal firing frequency and hence handily explains the
enormous time dilation. Hence we have two totally
independent scientific discoveries of this brain time
dilation mechanism one from top down neuropsychological
studies and the other from bottom up biological physics
studies. This astounding coincidence can only indicate to
even a casual observer that the basic thesis of item number
1 above is very probably correct!

For thousands of years the main objection to the theory of
life after death as espoused in the Bible and Christianity
has been that “dead brains can’t dream”, but now we see that
the time dilation principle of Peake and Hammond has totally
ruled that historic objection out of court forever. It turns
out that the virtual reality Afterlife dream takes place,
just as St. Paul said, in a split second before death while
the brain is still alive, but because this highly compressed
dream is viewed by the dearly departed in real proper time,
this afterlife dream appearas to be occurring after death.

Clearly item number one is now a well nailed down
scientific discovery which anyone working In the field will
have to address. On the other hand item number two turns out
to be an even more challenging scientific problem. So far
Hammond has not been able to solve this problem; that is the
problem of how the human brain creates a “perfect body” in
this virtual reality.

In the first place the traditional theory leads us to
believe that we arrived in heaven in the body that we
already have, it is sort of a come as you are party. And
then we are led to believe that somehow the body
“transfigures itself” into a perfect version. In particular
Hammond has shown that the underlying problem of life is
that no one is fully grown. No one ever reaches their full
height and weight or mental capacity. The existence of the
Secular Trend curve of human growth over historical times
proves that this is a fact. We have grown so much in the
past few centuries that no modern soldier can even fit into
a medieval suit of armor. American schoolchildren have grown
to 3 1/2 inches since 1900. The Flynn effect shows that
human intelligence is growing nearly 10 IQ points per decade
simply because of brain growth caused by increased nutrition
and the standard of living.

In fact the Secular Trend shows that the average growth
deficit is about 20%. This means that 20% of the average
person’s brain is actually missing, and that is why no human
being can see the Beatific Vision and why no human being is
“God in the flesh“. And therefore the first principle of any
theory of life after death is to explain how the brain is
going to dream up a perfect body in Heaven.

I should Interject here the fact of life after death has
never been to merely to perpetuate life as we know it. After
all what 70, 80 or 90 year old person would want to live
life all over again? Don’t be ridiculous, that would be as
boring as watching old reruns on television.

No, as St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas painstakingly
explain to us, the sole purpose of life after death is to
obtain a beatified body so that we can see the Beatific
Vision. Life after death is not more of the same, it is a
miraculous transfiguration into a higher lifestyle, the
highest lifestyle, into a body that can look back on its own
life in this world and see the explanation and meaning of
every event that ever happened to him in a single glance.

From a scientific standpoint as Hammond the physicist sees
it, the problem is to explain how your brain can dream up a
perfect body in this life after death virtual reality. If
20% of your body never got grown that means that 20% of the
cells in your body are actually missing. 20% of the brain
cells, 20% of the rods and cones in the eye, 20% of the
muscle mass and bone size is simply absolutely missing. How
on earth could the body calculate up all of this missing
apparatus and then calculate up somehow what this missing
brain would have seen and experienced in order to give us a
virtual reality view of what this perfect body would see. It
seems Impossible since there is no underlying blueprint in
the human body. The human body is simply an enormous cascade
of chemical reactions each of which is dependent on the
previous one. There is no way to extrapolate or calculate
the effect of these truncated or missing reactions. On the
other hand, such a formidable institution as the Catholic
Church has believed for 2000 years that that is exactly what
the human brain does when it dies. And while I see it to be
a enormous scientific challenge, as a career physicist I am
also aware of the limitations of our current knowledge and
do perceive that such a thing could in fact be
scientifically possible… but it’s not simple. We got lucky
on item number 1.… it is simple and that is an astounding
breakthrough… but item 2 does not appear to be simple.

So far we have the body arriving in heaven, and according
to Hammond’s theory this body will exist there for a number
of years, say five years, and during that time day by day
the body will continue to grow until the fact it Is fully
grown. The 20% growth deficit will disappear over a period
of years. As this happens our perception which of course is
based on our brainpower will constantly increase. Our visual
perception will increase hour by hour, week by week, year by
year until we finally have the magnificent fully grown
perfected body… until we are God in a flesh in this virtual
world. At that point we will be staring face to face at true
reality otherwise known as the Beatific Vision, or is the
Bible so aptly puts it “seeing God face-to-face”.

That is my explanation of item number two above. But as I
say, that is only a hypothesis and a conjecture at this
point, I have no evidence to prove that. And here we come
around full circle to Anthony peaks explanation of item
number two, and that, I believe, is his theory of the
eternal rerun…. that you live your life over and over and
over again in the Afterlife. At first this theory must seem
strange to the uninitiated. But to me it is easily
interpreted in terms of the scientific theory I’ve outlined
above. According to my theory that body grows constantly in
Heaven and it’s perceptual vision of life grows right along
with it. In other words every day in the afterlife the body
has grown significantly so that one’s vision of one’s life
constantly enlightens every single day every single hour and
every single year. We all experience psychological growth
during our lives especially in childhood. The view of our
life when we are four years old is much different than the
view of our life when we are six for instance. This is
caused by rapid childhood brain growth. During adulthood we
can experience the same thing due to the periodic lifting of
repression that we incurred during childood. These phenomena
serve as an example of what occurs in the Afterlife. Minute
by minute, hour by hour, day by day in the Afterlife your
brain is growing towards full genotypic growth. You are
being transfigured into the beatified body. With every
significant increase in growth your view of your past life
totally changes. Your view of who the people were, how the
events occurred and the meaning of them totally changes. Not
only does your life “pass before your eyes in a moment”, it
passes before your eyes afresh every minute and every hour
and every day in the Afterlife! Your length of stay in the
afterlife is simply determined then by how long it takes
this process to reach full 100 percent growth. And here we
see that the Afterife is all about the Transfiguration of
the body into a beatified body. This is called a condition
of eternal life. There is a difference between “eternal
life” and “perpetual life”. It’s the same as the difference
between an automobile speedometer and an odometer. When the
speedometer reaches absolute maximum design speed, this is
deemed to be a condition of (perceptual) eternal life. The
odometer reading is absolutely irrelevant to the theory of
God and eternal life. This could quite easily be equated to
“living your life over and over again” and this is what I
think the meaning of Anthony Peakes “eternal rerun”
hypothesis actually is.

Well that’s it, this post is getting too long so I’ll
leave off here. I hope this has answered your questions
about the theories of Peak and Hammond concerning Life After
Death. I would only go on to mention that I’ve spent 20
years studying the subject starting with the ancient
Egyptians, the Greeks, the Romans, and finally the
Christians and the net result after a 30 year study of
Physics, Psychology and Theology is that I put the
scientific probability of there being a literal life after
death at about 30%. Now this means of course that there is a
70% probability that there is no such thing, that its only a
metaphor, but I suggest that a probability of 30% is
something that simply cannot be scientifically ignored.
