But if it's turtles all the way down, forever, there *isn't* a bottom of
the heap.

I don't know whether that's encouraging or not - it means you can always
go lower ..

I do beleive this might be explained by the very recently develloped
'up,down'  turtle direction duality.  The bottom of one turtle pile is the
top of another.

The best way to handle an infinite regress is to make it circular, so
maybe it's turtles all the way down and turtles all the way up,
conjoined. Standing under the St. Louis Gateway Arch gives one a feel
for this.
