The type of bass traps I'm most familiar with are either large slabs of fiberglass or foam (broadband), or large vibrating panels over a sealed cavity that are tuned by varying the panel mass / thickness and cavity depth. Those are easy to understand because sound waves strike a large surface area. But I don't understand the absorbing mechanism for Helmholtz... more »
