I am doing my basement. I will be putting up drywall and partitioning.
I was thinking, is there anything out there to orderly put holes in the drywall
without causing too much greif. I would cover those areas with a material
of some sort. R-13 insulation will be in most of the walls and ceiling areas.
I was just going to use panels on the drywall, but what the heck, see if
I can do something real cool.

Greg,

There is one method that has proved very effective and accomplish a
beautiful wall finish at the same time.
Instead of making holes and patching, consider a surface mounted
acoustical treatment and architectural stretch fabric.
Check out www.SoundNice.net. They invented and patented this system 25
years ago.

I was making stretched fabric in picture like frames 30 years ago.
I also made a bigger frame using 2X4's and put pegboard on the front.
But, I wanted to see if anybody was making integral gadgets for
construction purposes.

I had a nice cheap place I bought fabric and foam from a long time ago.
I wish they were still around.
