In almost every case, the designer is at the mercy of the major
component manufacturers for sound power emission data. Generally,
exposed rotating fans, chiller pumps and internal combustion engine
exhaustss including those of boilers are the major noise sources. But
you have to squeeze the data from the manufacrurer often thorough naive
representatives. Good luck and good hunting.
