Head Mic makes its way into Italian Outdoor Opera (Verona)

In my meandering into Facebook, I found this recent photo series on a recent
outdoor (Verona) performance of "Tosca", where one Mario Velucci provided
numerous audience and backstage photos at:

.. Prominent is the apparently now standard boom mic. See Mario's photos
11-14) .
This of course is the remedy for good amplification without feedback...

Is it now inevitable that this mode will make its way into classical
opera "anywhere"?....... I wonder............

I fear it, the audiences are getting less used to - and less able to -
listen and the voice artists are getting "mundfaul" and used to not using
dynamics due to the exposure to large amounts of compressed speech in radio
and television.
