Thanks for taking the time to answer my query.

I took the unit  back first thing this morning and they exchanged it for
a new one.

But the new one wont communicate with my PC via the USB cradle!

The first time I plugged it in I got a screen that said connect to PC
YES / NO

I was able to open 'my computer' and copy everything from the TT  (the
G: drive) to a backup folder on my PC.

Occasionally when I plug the device into my PC I get balloon messages
saying that the USB device has malfunctioned - but the message never
stays up long enough for me to read..

Have I blown the USB port on the TT 720T?

I have uninstalled TT Home and reinstalled it.

The green light on the cradle is lit so power is getting to the TT720

the TT720 is operating as it does out of the cradle, I can move through
the options etc.

yesterday with the other unit when it was in the cradle I couldn't do
anything on the TT screen..

I can not now see a G: drive in my computer.

To test the USB port on my laptop I copied a folder of files from the PC
to a pen stick and back to the PC and it works. This may not be a
comprehensive test of the USB port on my PC but it seams to be working.

I thought this was suppose to be easy.

Thanks for this info. I should have guess this as its a USB device but I
didn't. So thanks for the info.

I did power the TT down before I removed it from the cradle. Hopefully
this will prevent 'damage' of some sort!

BUT do you think I have damaged the TT somehow? Or have I just got a
'glitch'?

Thanks for any help.
