I just got an eTrex Vista HCx as a gift. The unit works very well, it is very sensitive, but the included maps are a major disappointment - no detail whatsoever. I have the privilege of trying out the Nuvi 780 before buying, thanks to visiting relatives. Using Road Trip for Mac, which works very well with my 60CSx, I want to upload a route to the Nuvi. Scratched my Oregon 300 screen, how to fix?

After my last hiking tour I was apparently not careful enough packing my Oregon away. It slipped out of the satchel and something in my rucksack made a few very ugly scratches on the screen. Garmin 60 csx

I have a garmin 60 csx and I tried to install a pair of new Energizer Ultimate Lithium batteries and they don't seem to like the garmin it starts but then the screen fades away. the batteries are good I tried them in a flashlight and they worked very brightfor several minutes. I hoping somebody might have a suggestion.... more »

So, yeah... I actually bought a NEW GPS, instead of my usually pattern of killing one and buying a model a few years old from someone else. I've own before this a StreetPilot, a ColorMap (think SPII), and a 2620. The 2620's autorouting was pretty straightforward. hello, Does anyone know / understand the four pin serial port on the Garmin 60CSx? I have purchased a serial cable to attach my Garmin to a PDA to use with the National Geo Topo series and it is not working out. That is a bigger issue and if anyone understands how to make that work that would be great.... more »
