I'm on the W coast and using my 660 I didn't have too much trouble. this
is a model sim to the 350 and has maps from 08.

First entered New Fairfield CT and set my location there. Default loc was
just West of Hwy 37 on Hwy 39.

Next went to shopping and scrolled down to grocery and then scrolled down
the list and saw Shaw's. No street number given. From my default loc,
gps says I'm .4 mi away. Appears not to be located on a corner and is
shortly before "short Woods Rd."

You are probably giving it too much information and the search
algorithm, being very literal, is not finding it all.

I just entered a search in MapSource for:

Number: 25
Street: 39
City: New Fairfield
State: CT

and I found that address. Zooming in showed two icons and four POIs
there, one for the Shaw's market and the others for three restaurants
and a Senior's Center.

Never enter any more than a highway number or the name or a street
(leave off things like street, lane, way, etc.) and that will produce a
search result list. If you enter a street name that is two or more
words and don't get a result, remove the last word and try again.
Finding the one you want in the resulting lists is easy enough.

They should have a label on front of every Garmin GPS that says:

"Not infallible, everything is not known, some common sense and human
disambiguation may be required."

Could be a conspiracy by Stop & Shop to block the competition.
