Freezing and Spontaneous shutdown

[Chull13]

One of my Rinos 530HCx's has froze twice needing a hard reboot (remove
battery) and just shut down once in a space of 2 days.
One of theseveral reason I got these was for data recording and if it
freezes while snowmobiling Imight not know it for several hours - not
good!

I have the most recent updates done on both of mine but only the one
is having the problems.

Think this calls for a service call?

Well now Both of my rino's will freeze 2 out of 3 times!!! Usually
after about 2 hours of use. The last time both frooze within 10
minutes of each other!
They both have the most recent firmware!
Guess I'll have to open a trouble ticket with Garmin.

They will not work in finding my buddie in an emergency if his is
frozen!!

Well - I got a fast resonce from Garmin.
Run the WebUpdates and do a Master Reset - and if those don;t do it
then an RMA.
Not too bad - but I think they already have the latest Firmware on em.
Oh well.

Any idea what the most recent Firmare and GPS Software on a Rino 530
HCx should be?

SnoMo trails open!

Well - I sent my 2 back today with an RMA.
I wonder what I'll get 1st - Working 530HCxs? or my Rebates for them??

Well - Garmin sent me two replacment Rino's - it seems even before
thye would have time to turn mine on let alone test them.
Het - if these work that is fine by me.
But, I fell bad as I was told to send back the Rinos only and no
accessories - so I did not send back the chargers or the blet clips!
But they sent me two complete Rinos with everything!
Oh well - I'll ask them if they want those back too.

(I just hope these ones don't have the same problem!!)

Well the 2 new ones Garmin sent me do the same thing - Freeze/

Well - the Garmin enginers were able to reproduce the problem - but it
seems to be a tough nut to crack!!

Well - At least one Tech at Garmin is will to step up.
I'm not going to say which one or what he is doing for me - just in
case it isn't sactioned :-)

I just wish the Beta Firmware they wrote for me included a few more
fun things! (c:
