On a nuvi 1350 , do you know what the small
white arrow means in the middle of the left part of the map?
When turning, it seems to turn too to some other direction.
It does not locate direction north, nor to the final destination direction.
Clicking is simply removing all buttons on the screen as you would
click on another part of the map.

best regards

On some models with touch screens, touching that arrow will toggle you
between track up to north up.

I apologize for adding to a four-year-old post. A few months ago I purchased a refurb Nuvi 1450 and it has the "confused arrow" you mentioned. Mine points north and south correctly, but it flips east and west. I posted a video on Youtube displaying this behavior http://youtu.be/KH53gUfRmC0 and may ask Garmin to explain it to me.

It looks to behave perfectly normally to me. It's the north direction
pointer, so when you are driving north it points up; when you're driving
west it points to the right; for east it's the left; for south it's
downwards. When you follow a 'north' aligned road and the comment was
'points north-ish', are you sure the road is exactly north-south?

Agreed. It looks fine to me. The audio prompts, on the other hand, seem to
need serious work.
