Uhm, Ron, what year was it that you received your PhD? And what was the title
of your dissertation?

I am sure you won't mind if I just confirm those items with Johns Hopkins
University. I promise to post my findings here publicly within 10 days of you
providing the above items of info. If true, it will surely bring you untold
glory and the wonderful satisfaction of seeing that pesky Kevin Filan publicly
put in his place. Moreover, as a bonus, if it checks out and you DO have a
PhD, I promise to post my Official Order of Shaitan Membership Certificate on
the front door of my night club on the night of our Halloween Party. Oh think
of the glory and exposure you will receive for that! You will be known and
recognized for the full glory of your demonic majesty by all of the darkest
elite of the Nation's Capital on the night of our greatest gathering of the
year ! ! ! You will be as a god.

So tell us? Year in which you received the PhD in Psychology? Title of
Dissertation? And just for good measure, how about the name of the
chairman/advisor for your dissertation and the date of your oral defense of it.

I note that you failed to answer his questions,
and mine: therefore, let me repost them again.

What was the subject of your dissertation?

Who was your dissertation advisor?

What have you published in peer-reviewed academic
journals?

In what year did you receive your Ph.D and
where did you do your undergraduate work?

This is off topic, but "publish or perish" stuff is not all that good,
reviewed or not. When PUSH comes to shove in a real competitive
environment, publishing to get GRANTS is a whole other ballgame. At
least in epidemiology and other related DEPARTMENTS - what's profitable
gets the money, not necessarily what's right. Sometimes pure hype gets
the grant. Of course, that hype ends up being political propaganda to
ban this, ban that. Fucking FACADE all of it. And Preventive
Medicine? OH, that's REALLY GOOD - but not profitable. There is
profit in illness - all around. Doesn't that suck?

I have access to a database with abstracts for every doctoral dissertation
in the United States since 1969. Runny Mushroom does not have a Ph. D.
As if the fact were ever in doubt. I'm still waiting for the time, place
and video of the Filan/Mershon bout. $100 bucks Ronny. Lotta Viagra,

I think the fact that he doesn't seem to know what
the words "abstract" and "peer-reviewed journals"
mean was what tipped me off.

It looks like we may be able to arrange something for
November 18th; it will depend on my schedule. I'm going
to be travelling to Chicago next week, and the week after
that I'm going to be attending the new Broadway production
of the "Rocky Horror Picture Show." Booking a trip to
scenic and exciting Baltimore is going to be rough...
but I'll make the sacrifice if Ron will guarantee that
he's going to show up.

(If he doesn't, that's OK. I have his new address and
will certainly be glad to come and pick him up if the
date slips his mind. I suspect Messrs. Xavier and
Merciless would enjoy taking a trip to XXXX Collingwood
Drive Apt. E just to see the look on His Impotency's
face... at least before he kills all of us with his bare
hands and/or his "Ninja Death Secrets").

The funny thing is this; Ronnie has expressed a desire
to kill me on several occasions. He knows where I live.
(Hell, he POSTED where I live). And yet he can't be
bothered to make the trip up (sorry, Ron... I know how
that word "up" makes you feel) to New York to come and
beat my ass into the ground.

Given that he regularly claims he's financially well-off
(sometimes he even uses the word "wealthy"), I don't see
what the big deal is. A train ticket to Baltimore is no
big strain on my credit card: I wonder why it is Ron seems
unable to travel up here.

(It's a pity Amtrak doesn't take food stamps)

So is that how you handle your problems? Issue a challange and try to
have people arrested when they show? That is not clever, that is
cowardly. Either live up to your claims, and fight, or shut the bloody

Let's see:

First you wanted to fight with me.

you told me you really wanted a bare-knuckles

Then, when I offer to show up at your place

Why have them arrested, O Super-Ninja-ly One, when you can render them to dust
with a mere flip of the wrist? Or have Egan curse them? Or curse them yourself?

Would not a never-failin' Death Curse O' Doom be a more elegant way to dispatch
these "pests" than involving The Fuzz? Think of the bragging rights you'd
have...!
But since when have you waited for mere proof to begin bragging...

Frankly I hope they all three show up at your place, conveniently located near
the sewage plant, and deliver what you so richly deserve. Someone be certain to
bring a camcorder, and don't forget the latex gloves, to minimize infection
risk. Perhaps surgical masks might be a good idea as well, keeping droplet
contamination in mind.

Good thing Stephanie is gone; this might get ugly. I think your mouth has been
writing checks your body cannot cash for some time now, and your comeuppance is
at hand.

We who are about to laugh, salute you:

GB will react with steam or water to produce toxic and corrosive vapors. All
persons not engaged in extinguishing the fire should be immediately
evacuated from the area. Fires involving GB should be contained to prevent
contamination to uncontrolled areas. When responding to a fire alarm in
buildings or areas containing GB, fire fighting personnel should wear full
firefighter protective clothing during chemical agent firefighting and fire
rescue operations. Respiratory protection is required. Positive pressure,
full face piece, NIOSH-approved self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA)
will be worn where there is danger of oxygen deficiency and when directed by
the fire chief or chemical accident/incident (CAI) operations officer. In
cases where firefighters are responding to a chemical accident/incident for
rescue/reconnaissance purposes they will wear appropriate levels of
protective clothing (See Section VIII).

Do not breathe fumes. Skin contact with nerve agents must be avoided at all
times. Although the fire may destroy most of the agent, care must still be
taken to assure the agent or contaminated liquids do not further contaminate
other areas or sewers. Contact with liquid GB or vapors can be fatal.

Well, I can't reproduce the abstract for copyright reasons (as I recall),
but it was on "neutron bomb policy in western europe." Figures that ole
eyebrows would pick such a topic. But what made me giggle so, was that his
thesis self-admittedly relied on his "inside sources in the pentagon" who
could not be revealed. Allowing him to say whatever the hell he liked on
the topic. I guess Academic Fraud in the soft sciences is pretty standard
stuff -with bigshots like Edward Said or Jaques Lacan making careers
based on fraud. It's something to keep in mind when this particular
windbag blubbers on about "his credentials."

Actually _The Neutron Bomb_ dealt first with the
domestic U.S. political processes involved in its
planning, funding, and approval within the Ford
and Carter Aministrations, then with the
international issues and debates concerning its
proposed NATO deployment.

Contrary to Locklin's misrepresentation, it was
extensively detailed, footnoted, and attributed to
many pages of sources in Washington and elsewhere.
There were no "inside sources in the Pentagon" at all.
Quite the contrary: I was very careful to draw a firm
line between this academic research project and my
military work, so that there would be no question of
any misuse of classified information access.

At the time of my research (1979-80), the NB was still
a very touchy issue. The idea behind that particular
kind of warhead was that it would kill people but not
property. Hence if the Warsaw Pact launched a tank
attack through the Fulda Gap, a few NB tactical
missiles could stop it without making West German
land uninhabitable.

Until the NB showed up, nuclear doctrine was based
on the "balance of terror" principle: that the things
were essentially unusable by both blocs because of
the extreme and residual damage they would cause.
So the NB threatened to destabilize things: to be a
"usable" nuclear weapon, as it were.

You can imagine the political flak about this, both
domestic & international, beginning with the
accusation that it was the ultimate capitalist
weapon (zaps people, leaves all the property
pristine).

Making the rounds of Washington - the press, the
government, and all the embassies involved - was
quite an experience. Everyone had an opinion, and
[on my second round] also an opinion on everyone
*else's* opinion! The amount of lying, backstabbing,
hiding, fudging, and general BS became rather
funny; what started out as a fairly routine research
project turned into major Beltway soap opera.

The US insisted the NB could be used for defensive
purposes *only*. When I mentioned this to the nice
young "diplomat" at the USSR embassy, he excused
himself, then came back with a copy of an article
from the USAF Air University discussing how NB
warheads could be used on cruise missiles to hit
Moscow! Of course the *same* USSR was "purely
defensive" where the Warsaw Pact was concerned ...
but when I visited the PRC diplomatic mission [its
embassy was not yet opened], a very nice lady
senior officer in the Red Army invited me to tea and
went into extraordinary detail concerning Soviet
contingency plans for *offensive* campaigns in
western Europe! West Germany thought it was
on safe ground by saying that it would accept
deployment of the NB only if at least one other
NATO nation did, which publicly none did - but
an Air Marshal at the UK embassy hmphed at
that and said that actually Turkey had agreed
to - but by that time the Carter Administration
was looking for ways to *not* deploy the thing, so
Turkey was sort of sat on. And etc.

The dissertation got both compliments and chuckles
at the U.C.S.B. Political Science Department. Most
Ph.D. dissertations are pretty dry; this one read like
the screenplay for _The Mouse That Roared_. :-)
It passed the Committee and its Departmental
Defense the first time round.

I sent a copy to Jimmy Carter for his Presidential
archives and got back a very nice letter from
him. [He had been accused of not making informed
decisions on the NB issue; my research showed that
he had actually taken extraordinary care - and
far more than many of the pro- or anti- advocates.]

The paper is available from University Microfilms
if anyone is curious. Or of course there is a file copy
in the U.C. Santa Barbara Library.

Quoting the abstract; "Collection of data took place first by review of
unpublished papers and records and published articles dealing with the
subject, and then by personal interview in Washington, D.C. with
officials of the United States, British, West German, Soviet, and Chinese
governments. Specific sources are identified in the paper wherever
possible, but certain facts were obtained with the understanding that the
sources not be identified. What the final paper may lack in specific
attribution, therefore, is hopefully compensated for by the increased
comprehensiveness and accuracy of the information that it does include."

Like I said: plenty of room for academic fraud here. At best, it puts your
vaunted thesis on all fours with sheister-journalism, such as the rubbish
spewed forth by Jeff Gerth, resulting in the imprisonment of an innocent
Chinaman, and the humbling of the Times, the FBI and the DOE. Of course,
Gerth got "credentialed" for his bogus nonsense as well. Shows you what a
Pulitzer is worth these days.
