Lot's of videos showing Canadians awash in their own shit.

Freaking filthy landlubbers!

Seattle has the same problems.

Is there a particular brand of bucket you'd recommend?

Named after females but good for both genders. Note the wide smooth rim
and out-of-the-way rope bale. Does double-duty as a laundry bucket.

P.S. I just noticed how the rope bale is inserted backwards in the photo.
Mine has the knot on the inside so the rope bale stays completely out of
the way when business is being done.

Are you saying that's the kind of bucket YOU shit in? A $200+ wooden
bucket? A three dollar Home Depot bucket with a hinged toilet seat would
be far more practical.

My ass is worth pampering to the tune of 290 dollars (the large size),
yes. And it floats, and it will last a lifetime. No cheap plastic bucket
for my manly posterior.

The knot would still collect shit. Attempting to wash it would be highly
unsanitary.

Knot (pun intended) if one is careful. When one empties the bucket the
geometry of the rope bale causes the knots to remain above water lever. As
the current of the water is towards the center of the bucket rim which is
away from the knots, the knots stay pristine. The only time they even get
wet is when the bucket is being rinsed. If one uses nylon rope like I do
and if one fuses the knot with a barbeque lighter it becomes a smooth
plastic surface that is easy to clean and hard to foul.

The inside is waxed from the factory and it's easy to renew the wax to
forestall skid marks on a waxed surface.
