I had a misting of pine sap on my old Starcraft (and truck) from an
overnight stay in
Te-ah CG in Dixie National Forest UT.
Believe it or not the next rain I hit washed it off the truck and soapy
water cleaned the camper when I got back home.

I have used googone to remove pine sap from canvas. Get it off as
quickly as possible. The sap on my canvas left discolored areas.

I have read in Popular Mechanics that Pine Sol, the cleaning solution worked
well on car paint. I have used it and it does work. You might be able to use it
on the canvas.

If you have the more hi-tech, breatheable "sunbrella" canvas used on the newer
Coleman PU's, be sure you rinse any kind of soap/detergeant out with almost
extreme thoroughness. It seems that any soap/detergeant residue left on
breatheable canvas, like sunbrella, destroys their waterproofness (temporarily)
until all residue has been removed. After that, a simple spray-on water
repellant will restore the fabric completely.

Glen Raven Mills, the manufacturer of Sunbrella (see
www.sunbrella.com), recommends a product called 303 High-Tech
Fabric
Guard to improve water and stain repellancy; and also block 95+%
of UV
rays. One application is reported to last for up to 3 years. One
15.2
oz. aerosol can (~$13US) treats about 100 sq. ft. Also sold in
one
gallon containers, cost ~$80US.

303 Products also sells a companion product that will treat vinyl
tenting material called 303 Aerospace Protectant.

The 303 Products' web site is located at (like THIS isn't
obvious...)
http://www.303-products.com/

You can buy 303 High-Tech Fabric Guard and 303 Aerospace
Protectant
directly from 303 Products or from West Marine @
(www.westmarine.com).
303 High-Tech Fabric Guard is sold as West Marine's products
numered
185977 (15.2 oz aerosol can) and 151899 (gallon container); 303
Aerospace Protectant is sold as West Marine products numbered
132821
(pint), 151881 (quart) and 132839 (gallon).

Hope this helps.
