What I can't begin to comprehend is modern liberalism. Maybe you can
help me.
As near as I can tell, to be a liberal:
You have to believe the AIDS virus is spread by a lack of funding.
IF there is a church that is valid it has been pre-approved by the
government.
You have to be against capital punishment but for abortion on demand ...
in short, you support protecting the guilty and killing the innocent.
You have to believe that the same public school idiot who can't teach
4th graders how to read is qualified to teach those same kids about sex.
You have to believe that everyone on the internet is a pervert BUT the
school officials who want to do vaginal exams on your daughter without
telling you have your best interest at heart.
You have to believe that trial lawyers are selfless heroes and doctors
are overpaid.
You have to believe that guns in the hands of law-abiding Americans are
more of a threat than nuclear weapons in the hands of the Red Chinese.
You have to believe that global temperatures are less affected by
cyclical, documented changes in the brilliance of the Sun, and more
affected by yuppies driving SUVs.
You have to believe that gender roles are artificial but being gay is
natural.
You have to believe that businesses create oppression and governments
create prosperity.
You have to believe that hunters don't care about nature but pasty, fey
activists who've never been outside Seattle do.
You have to believe that self-esteem is more important than actually
doing something to earn it.
You have to believe there was no art before federal funding.
You have to believe the military, not corrupt politicians, start wars.
You have to believe the free market that gives us 500+ channels can't
deliver the quality that PBS does.
You have to believe the NRA is bad, because they stand up for certain
parts of the Constitution, while the ACLU is good, because they stand up
for certain parts of the Constitution.
You have to believe that taxes are too low but ATM fees are too high.
You have to believe that Harriet Tubman, Cesar Chavez and Gloria Steinem
are more important to American history than Thomas Jefferson, General
Robert E. Lee or Thomas Edison.

What?
You're willing to accept "argument" merely based on "belief"?
That's fine for religious beliefs, but one would think a rational
person would require anyone to "prove" his claims.
IOW, pondloon, you've just become one of "those" who can be swayed by
mere emotional appeal.........you know, like Hitler, or those other
despots did.

I see your problem right away.
First I serioulsy doubt your claim is true, secondly your conclusions
you use to set up the argument (which you answer) is bad fallacy
argument.
In every instance you "beg the question" by setting up a conclusion
based on unsubmitted evidence. You've presented NO evidence, for
instance in your first statement. "lack of funding caused spread of
aids". No such evidence existes except the strawman you build to
argue against.
IOW, good fellow, your statements are prejudicial, unsupported, and
require no one to argue. Present your facts that support your
conclusion, then we can argue over your "facts".

In 1999, the Southerner must resist the pressure to call
the present system morally superior to the historical
Southern systems of race relations.
The South is under attack today; and it is primarily a
philosophical attack. But the place where the rubber
meets the road is on the racial issue. To fight our enemies
on every point except this one central point is not to fight
them at all.
So in 1999, the true Southerner must be a warrior and not
a pacifist.

You also have to believe that the people who finance the businesses that

Rosie,
I see that you've never taken high school or college level debate
before.
Your arguements are weak at best and like water under foot at worst.
Please
follow up on your points with substantial evidence to back them up.
Failure
to do so will make you look like a fool. When you can prove your counter
points here in this forum then you might get some respect. Name calling
deserves none.
Brett
Sure.
There is nothing to understand about modern liberal thought. It is all lies.
When they tell you the things they do, they are not attempting to communicate
with you, rather they are attempting to manipulate you or distract you. Any
lie will do, any red herring will do, any accusation will do, any mystery will
do, as long as it occupies your time and makes you forget to look at what
_they_ are actually _doing_ and supporting. If you see through one lie, if you
shred one red herring, if you answer one accusation, if you dispel one mystery,
they will hastily and shamelessly throw out another one, it doesn't matter what
kind. As you attempt to communicate with them, to argue with them, to reason
with them, to show them counter-example after counter-example, in short as you
vainly attempt to treat them as honest beings who care about the truth, they
will smile as you twist in the wind, and they will call you stupid. And they
will be right.
Read my post regarding the "celtic mist" that supposedly surrounds Hillary.
The quote cited there should help you realize that these people are not
interested in any sort of honest communication, especially with themselves.

You can have my gun when you pry from my cold dead fingers, and if you send
one of those commie pinko ACLU lawyers near my house I'll shoot'em dead.

Banks provide us money to buy more stuff with. Of course they are good!

At some point common sense must apply.

Lvis,
I always believe that you can do a good deed by trying to help a poor
confused soul out. So I just gave rosell19 or "Rosie" a few pointers and
hope that he got the meaning of the post. In light of his last flurry of
postings
however I have learned one thing. You can take a mule to water but you
cannot force the bastard to drink in the common sense.
On the other hand if you observe his posting behaviour it can be noted that
when poor "Rosie" is down to responding with insults and vulgarities then
the debate is over, the person whom "Rosie" is insluting has won and "Rosie"
simply can't stand the failure. Overall this poor little troll is quite
amusing.
Having Fun,

There you go, Baloney Master.

So . . . let's have it.

And again, the baloney hits the fan and gets flung all over the walls. It
wouldn't be so bad if you had a point.

To be liberal requires a brain that is standard issue from the Federal
Psychological Reprogramming Institute. All that is basically required is an
inablity to recognize truth.

When a nation's young men are liberal, a lot of them are probably gay.

All liberals are such that they spew lies and insults, then claim weakness of the
opponent when their target retaliates with the bold-faced truth that is to the
leftist as daylight is to the vampire.

It is a tragedy for the liberal community when an African-American prefers to
simply be called an American.

Liberals make no claim to morality, and it shows.

"I once saw a gun sprout legs, run up to a guy, and shoot him! Or maybe I just
took a few too many hits of that new legal cocaine....." (Some liberal)
Don't forget to pick up your brain on the way out, roselloon.
