Schlessinger's power of the pen goes by way of her check book. She
giveth and she taketh away. And now we learn she's reporting it in
the news.

.....was news to Ernie Salomon... he'd contacted Arthur von
Wiesenberger, co-publisher at the Santa Barbara News-Press, about the
lack of News-Press coverage on a local story that was getting
attention in Santa Barbara, the LA Times et al. Why would there be a
News-Press black out?

The Sisters of Bethany Convent were getting evicted. Ernie and others
went into action to raise funds to help the Sisters . Why didn't the
News-Press cover the news of their plight?

Von Wiesenberger's answer was:
"Didn't you read Dr. Laura?"

News? Schlessinger's column had always been opinion, in the wild and
wacky world of this Santa Barbara News-Press, who knew Laura
Schlessinger is doing the news? How long has she been reporting news
and why didn't the paper inform anyone?
