Dr. Laura Responds
To the Editor:
I believe I am inappropriately mentioned in Kara Jesella's article,
"Detox for the Camera. Doctor's Order!" (Sunday Styles, Feb. 3) about
Drew Pinsky's and Phil McGraw's television programs exploiting
celebrities for media attention and ratings.
Adam Carolla, Dr. Pinsky's former sidekick on the radio show
"Loveline," was quoted in the article as saying he "felt sorry" for
Dr. Pinsky "because he would get lumped in with the Dr. Lauras and the
Dr. Phils."
Over a span of three decades on radio I have never interviewed
celebrities nor have I ever agreed to comment on any celebrity's
personal and emotional issues. When queried last month by Larry King
about Britney Spears, my remarks were only for the well-being of the
children.

twice a week. She often mentions where and what she eats by a
"celebrity sighting" witticism. She's the celebrity sighted, by
Laura. It's not as critical as the celebrity shortage in Afghanistan,
how could Bill o'Reilly ever forget... he was going to get celebrity
Laura over to Afghanistan ASAP.
The only ASAP was how fast they shut up. Afghanistan is lost, a
disaster, a tragedy. With all the blood dripping from her fangs I
don't know how she could continue to degrade herself so low as to use
it for a wing-nut celebrity scam.
"Tell the troops the truth, Afghanistan is a military failure."
