Yes Derek Riggs is still doing the artwork. The symbol is still around
if you look hard enough you'll find it. (I think they cut it off on the
No Prayer cd cause the picture is much longer than the room available
on front of a cd). He is also credited for the art work in the back
of No Prayer also. He is also credited for the art work on Be Quick or
Be Dead. (Note the other guy mentioned is the photographer of that
front cover).

My favourite cover has got to be 'Somewhere in Time' , some of the hidden
'things' are brilliant. (Like the football score on the display and the pub
being called 'The Ruskin Arms'.)

When people talk about derek riggs' artwork, somewhere in time and seventh son
seem to be the ones that are most frequently mentioned. my personal favorite
is the powerslave art. throughout his decade-plus years of making art for iron
maiden, riggs has tried new mediums as he has progressed. i agree that the
misty airbrushed look on somewhere in time is thematically appropriate and
technically excellent, and also that the no prayer art, while probably supposed
to seem rough and 'night of the living dead'-like, is not as beautiful as
previous offerings. (i have not seen the newest artwork, but am virtually
dying to.) but i find powerslave to be the culmination in mastery of the high-
precision detail work that i appreciate the most. lines are sharp and ruler-
accurate, and the use of color is nothing short of spectacular. eddie is in a
state of god-like slumber, shown in a coffin and as a stone carving (silent the
terror that reigned, marbled in stone), and this too i find to be as
graphically terrifying as older pictures of eddie with axes and blood, or newer
ones coming out of graves or clutching ripped-out wombs.
the artwork of derek riggs is an important part of iron maiden for me and a lot
of other fans, and i hope to see more and more as time goes by.

Are you sure that Derek Riggs is still doing the art for Iron Maiden? The
pictures I have seen from No Prayer for the Dying onwards do not look up
to scratch with his earlier work (e.g. the album cover, tailgunner picture,
bring your daughter to the slaughter picture) and I have been unable to find
his little signature thingo on any of them. It would be a pity if they have
got rid of him, because some of his earlier artwork is the best metal art
I have seen, and the new stuff sucks rocks in comparison.

and "wot a load of bollocks" on the walls are very funny too !

But they screwed up the continuity on the last album stuff, seems they couldn't
get *anything* right on NPFTD... :-(

Yeah, like the "Aces High Bar", "Ancient Mariner Seafood Restaurant", "Phantom
Opera House", Live after Death playing at Long beach Arena :-)
I think my favourite is the Aces High poster, although I am quite partial
to the Somewhere in Time cover and the World Slavery tour poster.
