Why "Load"?

Most CD players say "Load" on the LCD display when you are inserting a
disc... Coincidence, or is this a possible explanation for the name?

Actually I have heard the name derives from the fact that the album is "loaded"
with the maximum amount of music a CD can possibly hold-79 minutes. Don't know
for sure if this is true, just what I've heard.
