If you enjoy horribly subpar sounding recordings. Among all of the major bands that record their concerts for sale, Metallica uses the worst equipment, by far.

Quality equipment costs money. You don't expect a band that grosses over a million dollars a night to invest in quality recording equipment, do you? Metalligreed Inc. needs every penny it can get! Caviar and Ferraris ain't cheap.
Besides, could you imagine Metallica not cashing in on their own live recordings and instead fans trading copies for free on dimeadozen? No way. Lars would never allow that.
