I was at a friends place listening to some music and at one point the
song Iron Maiden came along, but his version is very different from
mine.
Where mine is fast and snappy, his is slow.
I got the mp3's here:
www.thunderstruck.nl/IronMaiden-a.mp3
www.thunderstruck.nl/IronMaiden-b.mp3
was one of them an early studio version or something?
or possibly a bootleg?
thanx.
No idea,
deffinitely bootleg, even BBC archives has different beat and tempo
It`s the version from `The Soundhouse Tapes`...a self financed EP they
distributed amongst and through metal clubs and mail order before they had a
record contract. It used to go for quite a lot of money in it`s original
form. It`s the only Maiden recording to feature Doug Sampson on drums I
believe.
The BBC archives version is a live studio one for the friday rock show. The
ST version of `Iron Maiden` was on the 2 disc `Best of the Beast`
compilation and the whole EP has been on various bootleg CDs over the years.
I don`t think the demo versions of Prowler and Invasion have ever been
officially re-released.
which one is from the soundhouse tapes, the fast or the slow one.
The slower one, the one you`ve dubbed "a".
