I've often heard that many artists frequently check in on newsgroups for one
reason or another. Does anyone know if an artist has ever posted on a newsgroup
(I don't think I've ever seen it mentioned on this one although I am fairly
new) to clear up a discussion argument. I guess anyone could claim to be
Halford or Dickinson and nobody would believe them. I'm just wondering how
influential these newsgroups can be. Seems like they can be useful in getting
the fans' opinions and ideas. Just wondering.

Jon Lord and Roger Glover used to post from time to time on the Purple
newsgroup. It was interesting to read their insight into songs,
tours, situations, etc. I haven't seen a post from either of them in
some time now though....

Tony

Pablo Picasso and LeRoy Neiman are two artists who frequent this newsgroup
quite often. In fact, the two of them have been discussing the possibility of
joining forces to create an abstract portrait of Dave Murray's lisp for a
placemat.

Now that's not true. Everyone here knows who I am!

Hehe.

I've met Dave Murray. He does not have a lisp.

They are currently on a European tour but the last post from Jon was only
about a month ago.

Well, according to people around here, he does. I can't say I've ever heard
him talk, so whether or not he has a prissy lisp and/or is light in the
loafers, I have no first-hand knowledge.

Do you know if Murray owns any of those LeRoy Neiman placemats made for
McDonald's in conjunction with the 1972 Olympics?

That's one of the most disturbing mental images I've ever been treated to,
except for maybe Hiei the Squirrel.

Rob Halford with a tail.

I'm going to assume Mr. Wolfe will throw in the snide gay joke response to
that comment on his own, so I'll just leave it alone.

He's been losing it for a long while. He's not getting the attention he craves
anymore, poor little troll.

To answer your question, yes I often read the group. I am currently working on
a stage musical version of Remember Tomorrow. Myself, Dennis Stratton and Lea
Hart are working out the details now. We've expanded the song to a 90 minute
piece and are in the process of auditioning for the lead character "Eddie". My
first choice would be Jim Carey to play the part, but since Tony Danza has
also showed an interest we will certainly give him a chance as well. Currently
the outline of the show looks like this:

ACT ONE: Unchain the colors

ACT TWO: Tears for Remembrance

ACT THREE: I shall return

Thank you for your interest and I hope to see you all in 2001 at the premiere!

Sincerely,
Paul Di'Anno

I think I saw this commercial on Romance Channel. They spoke Dutch, but
somehow I understood what it was about.
