[MaidenHeader]

Not sure if ever discussed, so here goes... (Enough with the "when is the
DVD from RnR coming? thread") Which piece of IM artwork best symbolized the
idea behind the album or single? Also, which song that never had artwork for
it would you like to see and what would it be like? Any takers?

Let me also state that I too am looking forward the upcoming release of the
DVD...Only problem is that a watched pot never seems to boil...

I think Somewhere In Time matches the theme closest. It also has the
best wrap around cover. Did Rime have artwork? If not I vote for that.
Maybe they could make a t-shirt and sell it on the next tour. =)

I think Powerslave was very successful in expressing the subject matter
and Maiden at the same time. The Trooper single and Purgatory were cool
too. Brave New World has a fitting cover.

If you buy the new Demo CD of Ancient Mariners you will get a great piece of
artwork for The Rime Theme!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ancient Mariners is a dutch iron maiden tribute band wich recorded a 5 track
demo last June. The Trooper, Ides of March, Wrathchild, Aces High, Stranger
in a strange land! It has a great sound quality (it has been recorded in the
same studio Golden Earring recorded a few songs (One of Harris´ favourite
bands))
(with the same producer and mixer Rob Rehorst)

AND...

Because of the bands name there is a great piece of art work with the
Mariner Theme....

And I wonder what both Derek Riggs and Mark Wilkinson would come out with
Dream Of Mirrors.
Talking of which, for those who are interested, I'm currently posting
Derek's stuff in alt.binaries.dragonz. I collected some in sites tended by
people who dwell in here but most are brand new scans I made and in some
cases the writings on them were removed. I'm rather proud of my version of
LAD, SIT, the angel and the gambler or run to the hills live. and they are
huge. you have to zoom in a lot before you can see the jpeg compression (in
fact most of the time, you can hardly see it). So if you're tempted... you
know were too go. So far I've reached day 4 in a schedule of 6, and some
pictures are probably already out, But I'll repost fills on request.

It's a good thing you felt it proper to make the same post half a dozen
times in one day.

Someone asked if Maiden, yes that's right, if MAIDEN had put out artwork for
the Rime of the Ancient Mariner.
And your answer was Yes, Maiden did put out artwork for it, they did it in
the form of a demo for some cheesey little cover band. Ya right.

That isn't what anyone is referring to. Promoting your band is fine, but do
it properly.

If you like artwork of Eddy it doesn´t matter who made it,
Iron maiden doesn´t care about that aswell. Eddy has been drawn by several
different artists!!!!!

This one lookes more like the old Riggs Eddy!!! There´s only one
difference.....

as much as anyone I guess. but apparently it seems that some promises were
made and broken. he also have a great fear of having his art 'stolen' by
unscrupulous bands who use his art against his will. I don't now if this has
anything to do with Maiden but it sure upsets him (who wouldn't be?).
besides he worked for stratovarius, Gamma Ray, Zonata and even Bruce
Dickinson. I'm not sure he depends on IM anymore to make a living.
