To see the band on this tour. I've read about some of you who have
already went and those of you who are gonna go. I'm going to see them
next week at MSG, then the week after at the IZOD center. Any of you
guys not going? If not, then why? Cost of tickets, not really
interested, dog ate your homework.......what's up?

I'm probably going to pass this tour.
I don't feel like forking out $100 plus to see pretty much the same set list
as always.
I've seen the band so many times anyway.
And by the time they get to Calgary it'll be so far into the tour that the
old boys won't sound as fresh anyway.

Can't afford it, times are hard, already seen 'em more times than I can

It would've been cool if this album and tour had happened a year or two ago,
then I totally would've gone to a half dozen shows, flown all over the
country for BOD meet-ups, all the usual shit. But the fact is, the industry
I work in has collapsed and I lost my job five weeks ago. So at this point,
if I was gonna spring for concert tickets, it would be at the expense of my
kids having presents under the tree on Christmas morning, and AC/DC will
never be that important to me.

Very sorry to hear about your job...I know what that is like. Were
you able to receive Unemployment Benefits?
My computer business has been hit very hard in the last year...and I
charge less than half the rate, per hour, compared to Best Buy's Geek
Squad, Circuit City's FireDog, etc. I haven't raised any of my
prices, (which is one of my selling points), but my profit margin has
dipped to only 40% of what it was 2 years ago.

So at this point,

Yes. I am definetly going.

$100 is CHEAP for a major "legacy act" like Ac/DC

It's fucking way cheap.

Eagles - $220
Who - $220
Stones - $450
Police - $250
Van Halen- $150
Roger Waters - $200
U2 $175

Do the fucking math - AC/DC is cheap, as it always has been. When most
bands were charging over $100 in 2000, AC/DC was 50 bucks. You
cheapskates are being WAY fucking too hard on AC/DC, they are giving
their fans their best value out of ANY of the huge oldies bands.

I will DEFINETLY be going. This could be their last run. I could give
two shits about their setlists and anybody who DOES care has clearly
seen too many of their shows.

Yeah, I'm getting the maximum weekly benefit, but it's only like 60% of what
I normally bring home. Basically, there's just about enough for the
essential expenses, but all discretionary spending is out for the time
being. It'll be fine though. Recessions happen.

They are, are they? Where the fuck they been the last 8 years or so? This is
one last cash grab for them. Hey all the power to them I guess.
They've never been on the cover of Rolling Stone and now look who's on it
this week. I'd of told RS to fuck off. 34 something years with all the good
material & popularity they had and now, NOW they decide too be asked to be
on the cover.

I will DEFINETLY be going. This could be their last run. I could give
two shits about their setlists and anybody who DOES care has clearly

Look fuckbake good for you, your going to see DC this tour. Make sure you
put on your fucking Underroos, it'll be a step up from your Pullups. If its
the boys last run then so be it. If I got that in writing, chiselled in
stone from the band then I'd go for sure. I've enjoyed DC's live shows over
many years I just don't feel like hearing the same tunes aside from the 3-4
new tunes like always. If the mixed it up like The Stones do from show to
show then I'd probably go.

The other reason I'm not going is much like Bads. I work in Calgary my wife,
kids, dog & 2 fucking fish are way back in Ontario. I pay for flights to go
home 4-6 times a year, my rent, expenses and the mortgage & send money back
there. I blew over $800 on tattoos of my kids on my legs so they're always
with me. So the next time you shoot your fucking cock eating mouth off make
sure you try to think before you do it. Just because some of us aren't going
for what ever reasons doesn't make us any less a fan or what ever way you
wanna look at it. Go enjoy the show, I could give a fuck. I choose for now
not to go see them who the fuck are you to say different.

That's a bad break, but I agree 100% with your priorities. I'm not as flush
with cash as I would like, so I asked my family to kick in for one of the
tickets as a combined birthday present. Personally, there isn't much else I
need that I don't already have unless I can't afford it anyhow. So a show
is kind of the perfect gift. Just a thought.

Otherwise, I'm sure it won't be too long before you find another job. The
need for your skilled labor isn't going away, in fact it will probably get
stronger over time in the big picture. Good luck with it.

I saw Bob Dylan for $35 about 5 years ago. I couldn't understand one
word he said. I went home to see the setlist and he played all of his
classics. Sad thing is I didn't know it at the time he was babbling so
much.

Just hang in there guys, eventually or HOPEFULLY the economy will bounce back. Obama's first plan is to fix the economy so I'm sure he will do it. And at least gas prices went down which is good considering I just bought a new Yukon
Denali only 2 weeks before prices started to drop. They were basically giving away SUV's and I don't drive all that much plus having a bunch of kids I needed a big car unfortunately.

Yeah, that's kind of the idea.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

And that's fine for most bands and most fans, but it's not Dylan's thing and
never has been. His approach to live performance is the exact opposite of a
band like AC/DC. He never plays the same setlist twice, never plays the same
song the same way twice, and is just as likely to play the most obscure song
from his most obscure album as he is to play one of his best-known hits.
AC/DC only plays what they think their audience wants to hear. Dylan doesn't
think that way. He's out there for his own enjoyment, playing the songs he
wants in the way he wants. If it alienates some people in the audience, he
doesn't give a shit, because they still show up every night.

No, I think you're just a high strung knucklehead who gets far too wound up
over nonsense on a stupid rock band newsgroup. You get all psychopissy and
call some guy who replied "fuckbake" and whine about your finances and
personal life like anyone cares. I'd say that defines laughable.

Whats the matter, you find fuckbake offensive? I can tone it down for you if
you want Gaybe.
I hate to play grade 5 game with you but if you want laughable my handle
isn't "Mighty." And you wouldn't even begin to realize some of the
relationships in this corner of the net at all. So until you do kindly get
back to your Easybake oven, Fuckbake. And I was that with out any

We actually do care about each other's finances and personal lives here.
It's called being friends. Some newbie fuckhole showing up and making
presumptions about a well-respected NG regular, I'd say that defines
laughable.

I will not go to the concert and I am pretty glad about having saved a
lot of bucks. From what I have seen so far, I have to say, that I am
missing some originality in their appearance. It's all pretty much the
same and choreographed down to each very step. To quote Bon: That
ain't rock'n'roll.
Some show elements (like Angus approaching Brian at the end of HTH)
look rather lame nowadays. They are just funny if you see 'em for a
couple of times. For a farewell tour, they should have come up with
some fresh ideas like changing one of the tracks in each town or a
real stripper showing up during 'The jack'. On the whole, everythings
is just as we have seen over and over again -just slowed down due to
age.

Ya know, Doof is a big boy and perfectly capable of defending himself.
But damn it, you are so far off base I gotta step up and say my piece
here. I am usally content to just watch the minor flame wars go on,
but you are really barking up the wrong tree here.

Doof has my utmost respect. He invited anyone in this group to his
home for a BBQ before SARSfest and was the best host imaginable. He is
a stand-up guy. And believe me, almost doc, you wouldn't be talking
shit like this in front of the man. If you do ever meet him, I would
really enjoy being there.

********

Erb, I don't disagree with the sentiment. And you know I think Doof is
great guy. But I don't think Dan's jab was over the top. That is the
nature of usenet flames. Now, many here know Doof, and understand how he
is. If someone said something like that knowing Doof's background, yeah,
that would be too much. But for regular newsgroup banter, between parties
who don't know each other, I don't know. Doof's a big boy -- he can take
care of himself. I hate anyone here to think there are people who are off
limits (other than jgb).

That's just me.

Ok, everyone in this group boycott the rest of the tour.

Nobody will care or noitce.

It won't make a dent in anything. AC/DC is the biggest worldwide rock group
going right now. Fuck Egotallica and the band Axl. No group is going to out
sell or out perform AC/DC on their tour for the next year and half. You can

The point is, you wouldn't do it. You talk big shit when you're safely

Hahahhaha experience with newsgroups...and you're bragging about this? HAHAHAHHAHAHA. I couldn't see myself flying to meet people with similiar interests in an aging rock band. But believe me, if it came down to someone wanting my
opinion of their tattoos, I would give it and HAVE given it. Sure any normal person doesn't just go up to someone they don't know and say, hey your tattoo is ridiculous. It just doesn't and shouldn't happen. But when a guy says in
a public forum KNOWN for flaming the shit out of each other "I spent 800 bucks on a tattoo of my kids names so I have no money to spend on whatever" ya damn right I'm jumping on this one. Now bads hit the streets tommorow with your

I wouldn't call someone who can't fork out $100 for an hour and a half

Hey, this economy is sucking hard. I was most generously offered a free
ticket here by a BOD brethern, (Thank you Lance,) but even the trip there
and back and any ancillary costs (I probably would have treated him and his
wife to a nice dinner etc.,) would be just too hard to justify. In good
times I'd pay that much to see the band, but not in today's economy. Don't
fool yourself people, I don't care *what* line of work you are in, watch
your bottom line. This is going to get much, much worse before it's over.

Like Bads, this housing market took it's toll on me. I owned a small
business that unfortunately catered to new home construction. Luckily I saw
this coming and was able to sell it for a very small if not negligable
profit about six months ago before it totally tanked, and I miss the income
it provided me and my kids. Luckily I have a job with the state fire
department, but I can clearly see layoffs coming in the government sector
eventually as well, firefighter or not. Last week we were all ready told
that we are looking at a 5% paycut by virtue of furloughs by the end of the
year, couple that with no raise for the last five years and I'll tell you
what, I ain't in the spendin' mood.

Yeah, I'll take a pass on ACDC this year and if it's the last go 'round, so
be it. For those here that don't know, I've been raising two kids entirely
by myself going on eight years now. They also need to depend on food on the
table and a roof over they're head, and last time I checked I didn't see any
checks in my mailbox from Malcolm M. Young to help me get through this
period. I don't think he'll notice if me and my wallet stay home.

Yeah, that's me, then and now. Time flies. Kids are so awesome, my
daughter is an A student in fifth grade, my son made a GPA of 3.19 and is on
the honor roll in 8th grade. *I* never made those kind of grades in 8th
grade! They're both in scouting, my son is reaching for that eagle scout,
and he's all ready sending letters to our congressman because he seriously
wants a nomination to West Point. No joke. And I'm doin' it all alone.
Lots of work.

You sent me two of your cd's Matti, and folks this is really awesome stuff.
1996?!? Seriously great cd's. I think I was applying your song Twisted
Sister to my ex at the time, it's so fitting. LOL Thankfully that's all a
distant memory. However I gotta throw this CD on. I totally love your
Blues In Pajala. What a great album. Can't say it enough.

Hey, I didn't say a fucking word to PAEOM at SARSfest, like I said I would.
Of course, we've gotten over that feud, but at least I carried it over to
the real world for a while. It's good to be able to turn virtual grudges
into real world grudges now and again.

See, there's your fucking problem right there. Apparently, you should go up
to HIS door (or even better, Angus's), with a camera and a grocery bag.
Demand an interview, then some food for your kids. That'd solve your
problems real quick AND make you a (in)famous jackass!

Well, no. My wife hates them blah blah blah.
I'm also not permitted to listen to the music in the house. So, it's kinda
like a smoker going out side.

My wife and I live in a trailer and it's fucking great!!! After paying rent
for 8 years at $700 per month I would live in a fucking tent. Right now we
are living free. no rent no mortgage, no pissing money in the wind.

So are you actually trying to insult most everyone here, or did it just come
out that way?

Oh this is too rich,

A) You're married,

B) You're married to someone who hates ACDC,

C) You spend all your family's money on trinkets from a band that she
hates,

D) You dress up in your Angus costume and probably embarass the shit out of
her,

E) And you can't even listen to ACDC in your own home.

They're right, usenet needs you. 24K source of never ending material right
here.

Yeah thats the worst thing anyone could do is to rent anything, house, trailer, apartment or other. Why give someone money to pay their mortgage that someday they will turn around and sell for double the price they originally paid for
it. I'd rather own and live in a trailer thats paid for anyday over renting some fancy apartment with a pool and a clubhouse.

You know Dan, you were very ready to come up to Wilkes Barre, PA to
meet up with me and attend the rehearsal show if you had picked the
right number...isn't that a slight contradiction??

Shawn, Not really. I mean I have no problem going for something like a show or something, especially one like the small 2000 person venue and meeting you and going to a concert. Mainly because it was such a small venue. But as far
as flying to somewhere and hanging with fans of AC/DC and seeing them in the same type setting that I can see them in my own backyard, then I'm not all that interested. I didn't mean that it wouldn't be cool to hang out with anyone
in here, I'm sure I would have a great time. But I'd just rather see them within driving distance and if I really want to party with people before the show, just hit any bar around the corner from the venue. I'm sure every single
one of you are kick ass to hang with. Once again though, I appreciate the offer you made to us in here to come to Philly and see them and to hang out with you.
