By the way, it was revealed in yesterday's Washington Post that Goal!,
and presumably the two sequels, is a Disney movie. No mention of Brian
in the review. It was just released in the D.C. area yesterday and for
anyone that pays to see it, will they be thrilled to find out two
sequels have already been filmed?
'United 93' is a good movie... and I saw it at the Regal Gallery
Place theaters at D.C.'s Chinatown and which is adjacent to the Verizon
Center (formerly MCI Center). My advice if you see this movie at a
theater is absolutely DO NOT purchase soda and/or popcorn since I'm
sure the Gallery Place is a nice place to see a movie... but there's
plenty of jerkiness with the movie cameras in this movie. I made the
mistake of getting both soda and popcorn... and the 'Blair Witch
Project' effect did occur to me... and I was lucky to make it to the
restroom in time. Oddly, I saw the movie yesterday (I took half a day
off at work) at the Regal Gallery Place and while usually a movie
that's in a theater on a Friday means the movie will be on Saturday
will be at the same theater but lo and behold, it wasn't in the
Saturday (May 13) listings today for the Regal Gallery Place theaters.
Of interest is that in 'United 93', I believe it is revealed that
they were doing some military exercises that day, something I don't
recall hearing about before and from the review in the Washington Post,
this will be the best movie you'll ever hate... although Oliver Stone's
Twin Towers movie might be the movie you decide to hate... since Maggie
Gyllenhaal (sp?) wasn't kicked out of the movie. I might see it anyway
depending on the reviews and Nicholas Cage is one of my favorite actors
and it's not Cage's fault that Maggie made her very insensitive
comments. Cage has come a long way since 'Valley Girl'.
