the familiar.
By Vatican II, the Church finally agreed with Islam, cementing forever
the recognition of the reality of progressive revelation from One God:

Unity of God for millennia, long before there were Christians

These faiths, and others, now recognise the fundamental
Unity of revealed religion, The Pope has visited a Mosque,
the previous one symbolically kissed the Qur'an.. and
they, along with Jews, Hindus, Sikhs, Bahai, Buddhists..
all gather as they will do next month in Melbourne to
participate the Parliament of World Religions.
Just as human political atructures have taken centuries
to evolve modern forms, so religious institutions have
taken centuries to achieve this mature stage of interfaith
dialogue and Unity, just as human children grow and mature,
under the loving guidance of the same parents, but passing
through different stages of development, some of which include
fractious disputes, especially with siblings. ;-)
This gathering represents the vast majority of the worlds
population, who are believers. Many still struggle because
of their ancient suspicions, based on ignorance and fear,
but the walls are coming down faster than the one which kept
the Atheists imprisoned within their Hell on Earth.

The KJV uses the word charity. Modern versions use the word love. The Greek
is agape.
