Why do Pagans and Wiccans and Druids think that the keys to
magick are to be found in the distant past?

What did people back then have that we don't have?

Nothing, that's what.

They learned about magick by looking within.

And that's how it's done today.

If you aren't wasting all your time learning about what some
scholar thinks went on thousands of years ago and practicing
theatrical rituals that may or may be like the ones that were
practiced thousands of years ago but manifestly accomplish
nothing but entertainment.

Which is what they were designed to do. The universe /is/ ultimately for
our entertainment. Magick rituals are like the tinker toys that loosen you
up to play a little more.

How does "sid" know this; she channelled practicioners from the ancient past
or, more probably pulled this bit of trolling out of her ass?

Can't speak for "Pagans" and Wiccans but what bottom of which
cracker jack box gave you the idea Druids do?

QBL or the gospel according to St. Ignoramus?

Ren wants me to go away because he doesn't like people
asking him to substantiate claims that he makes.

We are all just supposed to believe everything he says.

So why isn't he using the magickal powers he claims to have
to get rid of me?

All he does is troll, which is something any rotten little kid
with his mommy's computer can do.

Ren:

A troll can come here and post "you have no magick -- you have no
magick -- punk".

Such simple conditioning doesn't work on me as I repeat my self-worth
every day.

But such trolls should know that I won't just lay down and let myself
be kicked.

When I am silent, that is when I am deadly. Silent and deadly.
Braaappppppp.

Ren:

Hire a private investigator to find out more about me, harass me by
telephone, email me, you're swimming in deep and dangerous water. I
will scramble your brains and keep you posting to serve as an
example.

I hired a private investigator to locate and identify Ren. And he
discovered just what I thought he would: A guy with a dumb job
who spends his spare time sitting in his crummy little apartment
posting bullshit on the internet. When he isn't playing video
games or watching TV.

I haven't posted his personal info because there's no need. He's
not a threat to anyone.

You'd think that a mighty mage who could scramble people's brains
would be aware that he's being investigated, wouldn't you?

But he wasn't. This will be the first the little fraud knows of
it.

Ren. If you are unhappy with me having you investigated, you
are free to use your might magickal powers to harm me.

ROTFLMAO!!!

The power of disbelief is so strong. If someone encounters something
that is not within the realm of their experience, they often overlook
it.

Yes, it can be said that magick it that which outflanks disbelief.

The relevant point, like all others she encounters, would whoosh over

Technically Druids don't have the luxury of being able to read any old
ritual or incantations from thousands of years ago. There traditions
where mostly lost and in the last couple hundred years put back
together from various tidbits of information from various sources.

I look at old rituals as old blue prints, you try to see where they
where going and then stream line it for the present. They didn't
necessarily have it wrong, that just might of over complicated it a
bit for our standards.

I don't know why you are talking about this in response to the above
article.

But I can tell you this: The rituals performed by people living now
who claim to be Druids are good for nothing but entertainment.
They are simply theatre. They don't do anything that any competent
troupe of actors or storyteller can't do, working with pure fiction.

"Ren" is a would-be predator pretending to be a magickal adept
in the hopes of convincing people to surrender to him as
an authority figure.

The only people who could possibly be that stupid are gullible
youngsters.

I intend to see that his plans don't succeed.

He doesn't bother me. He's a stupid punk who is a threat to
no one with a little common sense. Really, he's nothing but
another dipshit troll.

Can't keep an eye on the little creep if I killfile him, can
I?

You know that isn't going to happen, Willows. Self-proclaimed saviors
feel they have a mandate from [insert divinity here] to "proclaim the
word" to the as yet-unsaved masses. That would be the four
crossposted groups, I suppose. And apparently Ren has been cast in
the role of devil du jour.

Who was it that was going on about predictable theater, or some such?
Hmm....

Oh. Never mind.

Doesn't matter in the overall scheme. Every violated kind request *will*
have its effect whether he realizes it or not. That's how Firenne operates.
- and magic doesn't mysteriously start to work different when spelled
with a "k".

Indeed, and most of all... every group has their own respective infestation
with the same ole never ending quibbles between two opposing parties.
a.r.d. certainly doesn't need an import and then even by someone who
obviously has no clue what he's talking about when it comes to Druidry.

Matter of fact this "Sid" person claims to be some "beginning student of
magick" yet skillfully evades any mention of the sort of 'education' he's
involved in. Same time, he rags on "pagans", Wiccans and Druids alike,
as if there was no concernable difference between the three terms.

That's usually a dead giveaway where someone comes from.
