Mood: indescribable
Bob Larson lies again
It's October 31, 2012. Hurricane Sandy is bashing the northeast coast
line up to New York. At last count, 90 people are dead, whole
communities devastated, city people demanding the government give them
food and fresh water.
And what made Bob Larson " shocked" and an associate of his "
stunned"?
The cancelling of his old reality TV series on Lifetime.
I'll let you recover from your natural, human reaction to Larson's
self centerness and callowness.
Here is the Constant Contact entry for that day, with a black
background when his usual is a blue background:
Bob-Larson-explains-Lifetime-cancels-his-reality-show.html
One would think that a black background signifying mourning for THAT
particular day would have been for the victims of the hurricane or for
the various deaths around the world by terrorists and other such
tragedies.
Not for the cancellation of a exploitive TV series that was to be
aired for the third time in its history.
I delayed commenting on this for a number of reasons. One you will
see as you read this entry.
His words ( or the words presented as coming from him) are in brown
boldface and separated by the dollar signs ( as usual) My comments are
in regular text and color for this blog. Brown for, well, you know.
And in this case its appropriate.
$$$$$$$$$$$
I'm still in a state of shock. Word of the cancelation reached me less
than 30 hours before the show was to premiere. My agent was taken by
surprise. The production company that filmed the show was stunned. We
still don't have all the answers, but here's what we do know.
$$$$$$$$$$$
Melodramatic BS. His " agent" and the production company he hired to
do the original TRE ( The Real Exorcist) should have been experienced
enough about the entertainment business to NOT be " stunned" or "
taken by surprise" for a very simple and obvious reason that most
projects fail at one point between concept promotion and distribution/
broadcast. He called this intented third airing of his suspended UK
series a " new" series on his web site in promoting this, which is an
outright lie and he knows it. That may come to bite him later on if
he's planning to take action against Lifetime.
$$$$$$$
You've read my emails saying that for over a week our offices have
been bombarded by incredibly obscene calls from homosexual activists.
$$$$$$$$
Bear in mind the emails he is referring to are to his supporters/
donors, not to the rest of the world. This is a CC aimed to the public
who sees his tweets. Whomever actually writes what is presented as
coming from Bob Larson likes to copy and paste rather than adapt the
document for the appropriate internet source.
As for the " bombarded by incredibly obscene calls from homosexual
activists" as he claims, a little trip down Bob Larson Memory Lane
might give you a clue that this current claim smells like moldy
leftovers.
For some years when Larson had on his radio show " Talk- Back with
Bob Larson" I as a listener had the habit of writing down in what
ended up as three spiral bound notebooks what his broadcast was that
day and what he said that I thought was worth mentioning. Interpret my
interest in Larson as you will, but for me I saw and still do see my
interest in Larson as an observation of the behavior of an aberrant
person. At first it was amusment because he was saying outrageous
things and acting pretty much like an attention seeking ( but
harmless) Christian nut case. Until he started using people's pains
and troubles for his own exploitation and getting money for himself in
his "Compassion Connection" and " Hope Chest" scams. The latter two
scams I might detail in a later post. Right now the focus is on the
"obsene phone calls" claim.
He says more about the OPCs later on, as you'll see, but I think you
knowing where and when he's pulled this claim before might give you
some insight that his current claim should be questioned. As it
should. Until he shows evidence of said calls, meaning recordings of
the actual calls, I would be skeptical of his claims. He's been known
to blow "attacks" and what he claims are death threats out of
proportion to the actual facts for his own exploitive purposes.
With Bob Larson its either deception, distortion or childish
derision.
The Glenn Benton vs Bob Larson issue has been mentioned by Benton
fans online and is popular enough with them that they have audios and
vids about it , also OC online.
Glenn Benton was/is the lead vocalist ( I heistate to call him "
singer") of the death metal band Deicide. As part of his promotion of
his band he came up with the " song" " Kill Bob Larson". An
interesting thing happened, one that both Benton and Larson benefitted
from. Similar to wrestling hyped up opponents yapping against each
other before a match, a device that people pretty much know is more an
act than what the wrestlers actually think about each other, Benton
and Larson on his radio show milked the alleged hatred of Bob Larson
for weeks.
Larson in that era included on air claims of " obscene and harassing
phone calls" he claimed were from Deicide fans. This fact is what I
wrote down in my log books. During that exploitation melodrama Larson
at one point actually told his donor audience listening that they
should pledge a dollar for every OFC his telephone operators
supposedly get--with the accounting up to what Larson presents, not
according to anything independently verifiable.
IOW give him a blank check he can fill out any way he wanted.
I will in this blog entry on a later date add the dates, numbers he
claims, etc, in an update I will insert at the end of this entry.

Someone from the gay community found a 14-year-old video of me casting
a demon out of a man who mentioned being affected by homosexual
desires. Though it wasn't a "gay exorcism" as the activists proclaimed
(the demon cast out was Anger), the facts were overlooked. My concern
for the man I was exorcising was compassion for the terrible abuse he
had suffered as a child. I was genuinely upset that this good and
decent man had suffered so much emotional torment. The exorcism wasn't
about whether he was gay but rather giving him hope to rise above
being a victim of sexual violation. My heart is always with those who
hurt because they have been treated wrongly. Sadly, all that some
heard was the word "homosexual" which led them to forge a widely
coordinated campaign directed at our ministry resulting in harassment
that was vile, threatening, and profane.
$$$$$$$
Assorted lies here noted, and as you will see, he lies throughout this
CC.
First, he assumes that " someone from the gay community" found the "
old" video now called " gay exorcism" video. The original posting of
the now viral video on YouTube before the original was pulled from the
user's account has AFAIK no indication whether or not the account
holder is LGBT or not. Not that the truth ever matters to Larson, mind
you.
He claims the " facts are overlooked' that it was not in fact a gay
exorcism. Later on he claims that he is not agianst gay people, which
I know is a lie. If Larson really wants people to look at the facts,
he should make sure no one knows his history regarding comments about
LGBT people-- or about any video or audio he sold to the public.
Objectively speaking, the video does in fact include Larson calling
homosexuality in very negative words, cloaked in the religion
hucksterism he is exploiting.
I find his " concern for the man" comment to be bitterly ironic.
Larson time and time again shows no "concern" for anyone but himserlf
and what he can exploit or sensationalize. His " concern" act is phony
and used as a lure to get vunerable people to come to him so he can
mess with their minds and take their money. Back in his Bob Larson
Ministry years when he set up the " hope chest" and " compassion
connection" scams he would have on some poor sob story caller, usually
a yong female's voice, and would call for his donors to send a certain
money amount so he can help the caller du jour get the services, etc,
he/she needs. Sounds noble, sounds nice, right? Sounds like he cares.
Its a lie.
Problem was that after awhile the legitimate people in whose name he
was raising money to help them began to call him and his BLM phone
operators asking where the money is. And his so-called referral
services where the BLM lackeys supposedly contacted various charitable
groups to help the person du jour, turns out not one of the outside
BLM charities ever recieved a dime.
Then one day Larson on the air went ballistic about his donors wanting
to be good stewards of their money, He said-- on the air, mind you--
that the money he raised in his "compassion connection/ hope chest"
projects FIRST went to what he claimed were BLM operating costs. And
the money "left over" ( usually none, it seems) would then go to the
person in need. He then had the audacity to tell his donors that if
they want their money to reach the sob story du jour that they should
give above and beyond his stated amount. And how DARE the donors
question where their money actually goes to!
Needless to say, even his naive donors shut their pocketbooks after
that incident.
If Larson actually has that compassion he pretends to have, he would
not be so callous and shallow as to have the " exorcisms" in public,
much less film them and sell the videos. The simple cold hard fact is
that Bob Larson pretends to care, pretends to have compassion, so long
as he can use the person for his own selfish interests. And he drops
the person when he can no longer milk money or attention from them.
Over the years of observing Larson's reported self publicity antics
via online, one of the things that comes my way are accounts by people
who in various stages tried to get help for themselves from Larson. I
have yet to see a case where the person who got help got help without
forking over money for " personal counseling" by Larson himself or to
DWJD " teams" that advised the poor person to buy Larson books, DVDs
and so forth. I have seen two cases where the person wanting help did
not have the money and were not helped by Larson or his DWJD team
franchise.
So much for caring and compassion.
His last sentence in that paragraph is particularly noteworthy.
"Sadly, all that some heard was the word
"homosexual" which led them to forge a widely coordinated campaign
directed at our ministry resulting in harassment that was vile,
threatening, and profane."
"Widely coordinated campaign" and " harassment" that was according to
him, " vile, threatening and profane" are all claims that if one isn't
skeptical of this from the start one would take him at his word.
Problem is his word has no credibility. In his own message, he says he
is trying to find out all the "facts", so him saying this was a widely
coordinated campaign is a questionable claim considering what he
clearly does not know. But it has that melodrama he likes to exploit.
As for the supposedly vulgar and threatening calls, presumably he
would have recordings of said calls for law enforcement evidence
against these alleged callers.
And yes the Glenn Benton OFC era claims seem to be recylcled in this
one.

What I didn't know was that Lifetime was also the target of a well-
planned campaign to make sure that THE REAL EXORCIST never aired.
Lifetime was inundated with calls and yielded to the pressure. Gay
activists were successful in their efforts to stifle free speech. The
show consisted of 16 episodes compiled into eight, one hour airings.
Not a single episode even mentioned homosexuality. What was the gay
community afraid of? Why should they be threatened by a program that
had nothing to do with homosexuality? Out of 15,000 exorcisms they
found one incidence that mentioned homosexuality. There was a
reference to "perversion," but that was an allusion to the severe
abuse that the person had suffered. The entire exorcism wasn't viewed
in context. Only an edited portion was put forth as evidence of so-
called gay bias.
$$$$$$$$$
" Stilfe free speech", " what was the gay community afraid of?", " so-
called gay bias". Hoo boy, where do I start with these whoppers? The"
one incidence" he claimed they found was only a video online, not the
instances I know about or the VHS video I have he sold to donors where
he verbally went after a male to female transsexual. Larson, as usual,
forgets to mention in his previous " incarnations" as traveling
evangelist, " best selling author," and Christian shock talk radio
show host that he has in fact made numerous anti-gay and anti LGBT
comments. During the Clintion years alone he repeated the rant " pro
gay, pro pot, pro abortion Clinton crowd". The transsexual video--
that I have a copy, BTW-- is eye opening in how very angry Larson
displays to the camera and the shaking in fear guest that any sensible
observer would conclude that Larson showed hatred and malice.
The " stifling free speech" claim is bogus and he knows it. What he
does not mention and ironically is referring to, is that the " free
speech" claim regaridng himself stems from an incident years ago when
he was in Canada for a college held appearance during his BLM years.
Seems some students, rightly using THEIR free speech to protest his
appearance, managed to shut down his money-grubbing appearance so he
couldn't siphon money from those attending in buying his crap. Two
pertinent facts about this incident, aside from Larson's later on air
reaction. the students were protesting his homophobic speeches and
they were the ones who created the usenet group alt fan bob larson.
Larson, always the ego driven mouth that he was and is, later on his
radio show ranted about how he "lost money" on his appearance and
that he was considering suing the college for violating his rights.
Problem was, he crossed the border into Canada, where the United
States Constitution and Bill of RIghts don't apply. To date I've not
heard if he actually carried out his ranting threat, though his hissy
fit I gleefully recorded on my log book that day.
I should mention on the topic of free speech, Larson himself stilfed
free speech of his BLM employees, dumped callers on his show that
knoew about his moral indescretions and an associate of his tried to
coerce a lady who contacted Rev. DG Motal about what she suffered at
the hands of Larson to make her sign a legal document designed to
cover Larson's hide, not to help this poor woman out.
As for what the LGBT community is " afraid" of, if Larson actually as
compassionat as he pretends to be, he damn well knows that the LGBT
community has suffered under " religious moral" people. It is not fear
as Larson deceptively claimed, it is concern, ironically, COMPASSION,
for those struggling as LGBT people. What Larson doesn't mention,
even though I think he knows this, is that a number of LGBT people
raised in strict " Christian" homes where they have been told such
people are perverts, child molesters, evil degenerate sinners and even
demon possessed have struggled with the guilt and agony they in fact
should NOT have, some, sadly , to the point where they end their
suffering by commiting suicide.
A good dramatization of this is the movie " Letters from Bobbie".
The movie, while considerate of Christianity, showed the agony of a
Christian mother whose son cimmitted suicide as she dealt with what
she had been taught as biblical condemnations of gay people. In her
own sorrow, agony and struggle to reconcile her Christian faith with
the fact that such homophobic teachings were at the root of her son's
suicide, she ends up realizing that homophobia is not what Jesus
Christ was about and that seeing them as people not as evil sinners,
was the true compassion and love Jesus DID teach.
As for the so called gay bias ( actually anti gay bias. Whomever
wrote this is not as literate as he/she thinks), I find his posturing
that he ISN'T biased against LGBT people to be one of his more blatant
hypocritical LIES I've seen him utter. I've seen him on his radio
show display anti LGBT behavior and utter hateful comments about LGBT
people.
He's lying again.
$$$$$$$$
Unfortunately, in cases like this the facts don't matter. What counts
is manipulated outrage, the silencing of a presumed opponent, and a
guilty verdict without the benefit of defense or incontrovertible
evidence. It is a sad day in America when those who yell the loudest
prevail over reason. Has political correctness gone so far that any
opinion which seems to contradict prevailing public consensus is
attacked and shut down without dialogue or honest debate?
$$$$$$$
The facts DO matter, and the fact is that not only did Larson lie to
Lifetime about this being a " new" series, he also is lying about his
record of homophobia. Whomever found the gay exorcism video found only
what is easily available online. As a long time Bob Larson observer, I
know of quite a few instances of Larson's homophobia and almost rabid
anti-LGBT reactions.
And if Bob Larson actually was interested in the facts, he wouldn't
be lying so much, using various froms of deception and wearing
clerical vestments he in fact did not legitimately earn.
Bob Larson concerned about the facts is his hypocrisy. He doesn't
want facts about the real him known to the public.
"Manipulated outrage" is an interesting choice of words, considering
his past. Seems that during his radio show " Talk Back", a number of
his speeches, including end of the hour speeches, were scripted for
him. His shameful shutting off the mic incident that Christianity
Today reported was in fact planned, in effect a 'manipulated outrage"
on his radio show, is one such instance of how even then he was being
deceptive.
I admit I find that whole paragraph amusing in his hypocrisy. His
whole posturing of ' honest debate,' dialogue", shouted down", " those
who yell the loudest prevail" and other melodrmatic claims contrasts
with his own history of doing exactly the same thing himself. There is
a reason why he was labled a Christian shock jock during his BLM
years. He's shouted over callers, ncluding me as Born Again Pagan,
he's never been in an " honest debate" with any critic of his in the
last 15 yeaes ( he in fact shys away from such) and he made the
notoriously bad performance on the Donahue show where he began the
show by grandstanding loudly reciting the obscene lyrics of certain
rap " songs".
If hypocrisy was a hair follicle, Larson would be mini- Sasquatch.
$$$$$$$
To all in the gay community who read this, I want you to know that I'm
not angry. I know that many of you have been treated unkindly by some
Christians and have been hurt by those who claim the name of Christ. I
am sorry for that and pray that out of this tragedy will come the
willingness for those in the gay community to reassess the actions
taken against our ministry. I believe that many who identify
themselves as homosexuals are also upset that such intimidating
tactics have no place in America.
$$$$$$
Eh, actually he is angry, upset that his "major mainstream media"
exploitation series was shut down.
Did you catch what he said?
" I pray that out of this tragedy..."
The " tragedy" of his exploitation series being canned. Meanwhile
the REAL TRAGEDY that I mentioned at the start of this blog entry s
overlooked by Bob Larson.
I honestly am at a loss for words about that self-centered man's
priorities. That is one of the reasons why I delayed posting this. I
needed the soothing embrace of time passing to distance myself enough
to comprehend rationally how he could be so blind and conceited to
actually pass on this self serving embarassement without realizing how
it makes him look.
Like the atrocious " Danger of Denying Deliverance' DVD where he
gloats about the death of Steve Irwin, I'm seeeing increasingly
callous and NPD-ish behavior coming from this man.
He's not keeping his mask on very well nowadays. His real monster
self, the egotisitical callous predator, is getting more blatant.
$$$$$$
More facts about this matter are likely to come out. We will let you
know what happens next. In the meantime, we strongly need your prayers
for protection and grace. It would mean a lot to have you email or
call 303-( deleted by me) to let me know you are standing with us.
The last chapter of this situation has not been written, and our God
is still in control.
$$$$$
"Last chapter" not written yet on THIS particular shame of Larson's,
maybe not. But the shallow self centeredness of this man has me very
concerned for the " teen exorcists" and the teenagers McExorcist is
trying to lure to him as " freedom fighters" ( a term he stole from a
fellow deliverance minister, BTW)
