It's sad to see that I am finally starting a discussion thread of my
own... something I haven't done yet in over a year of being on WT. I
was holding out for some type of topic that would interest everyone.
=/ Let's define irony, shall we?
Earlier this afternoon, around 5 or so Central, There was a stir up in
the chat. I did not witness the entirety of the stuation, but what I
did see was something to the effect of some man hater making a comment
that men ar pigs. Eruandil tok offense to that (because he hates
gender stereotyping) and had some sort of upset with the party that
made the statement. Syn got involved and told him to let it go,
because of it being a generality, not aimed at him. So he made the
comment that all women were sluts. Well, due to our laggy dial up that
was about the time that Beorc's post of sacasticly telling Eruandil he
should know better, disagreements of any sort aren't allowed in chat.
And so when Syn Banned Eruandil, she took Beorc down with him. =/
He asked me to post this for him, in this group so that everyone would
know what's going on, as well as a pesonal message to you all;
"Due to a misunderstanding (perhaps) that ocurred in the WT main chat,
my account has been deleted, and, quite distressingly, all of my posts
and threads and private messages. My group (Using Elder Futhark) has
also likely been deleted, sadly, and this bothers me greatly. I have a
copy of the True Witches AUP that I will have my wife, Julica, repost
here so that the front page can still contain the rules for our
wonderful group, and I will (hopefully) be able to get this all sorted
out, and be back before too long.
Sadly, I think that all of my posts will be gone permenantly, and for
that, to all of you, I sincerely apologise. I just want it known that
this was NOT of my doing, and I will be doing my best to get this
sorted out in such a way that it will not occur again.
Thank you all, True Witches, for being who you are, and I will miss
you for the time I am gone. Be well, all of you."

While I'm not so sure that the previous lengthy discussion about this can be
regarded as padding the forest floor, maybe it will work out to be that way
after all. If a portion of it serves to assist to rectify any injustices
perceived, then it wasn't all for naught.

Are there no corrective measures in place to address such instances of
high-handedness on the part of an admin/moderator on wt, (besides the
petition to recind the ban)? The above link contains a revealing quote from
"Synsual"; "The resolution is done. His attitude isn't welcome on the site"
which directly implies a 'no appeal' finality.

the petition to ask the moderator to let him stay. Well, since I can't
do that, I hope that Julica, Red and Red's girlfriend and the Greek
gay guy that looks like a girl all get suspended from the website.

Due to recent events, I am starting a petition to appeal the ban on
Beorc Kano, my husband, on his behalf. He was banned on January 2nd
for an infraction that he feels was not warranted. Here are his words
on the matter;
"On January 2nd, 2010, I was in the WiccanTogether main chat, as I
commonly can be. Several things were discussed , including some rather
heated debates. These debates stirred comments of bystanders to end
the discussion because those involved didn't instantly agree. In my
eyes, the purpose of debate is the intellectual exchange of ideas. I
made note that every time a real-time debate starts in chat, someone
uninvolved requests that it be ended, and I expressed disagreement
with that ideal.
An hour or more later, just before the moderator Synsual entered the
room, someone made a statement that Men were pigs. Another user,
Eruandil, stated that he took offense, as a man, at that statement,
and started debating the matter. Synsual came in, and the following
screenshot is a recording of the applicable conversation.
The statement I made there was in reference to the fact that every
debate I am present for is squelched by the uninvolved users of the
room. If the wiccan/pagan chat is not there for the exchange of ideas,
then what is it there for? I was immediately banned with no warning. I
have not received an official warning at any point, merely a few sharp
words from Synsual alone. I brushed them off as her simply not liking
me for some reason, though we have had several decent discussions on
the old Chatango chat server.
My wife, Julica, who is posting this petition for me, had a
conversation with Syn on the matter, where she stated that there was
no chance for appeal, and that her decision was final. The last time I
checked, we lived in a country that is not a dictatorship. As with the
American court system, there should always be a chance for appeal. I
offered (via my wife) to make what amends I needed to to repeal the
ban. The applicable conversation is quoted in whole here;
The aim of this petition is to repeal my ban, as I feel it was
unwarranted. I will make whatever amends that I need to in order hold
up my end of whatever deal may be struck. If that is an apology, then
I'll give it. However, as many people have stated, my posts on here
are valued by many, and are now gone. This is quite offensive to many
people, and has irrevocably deleted many of my discourses that I put a
lot of time and effort into posting, often for the benefit of those
who would ask me questions. Since I was the one who posted the AUP of
the group True Witches, that is also gone, leaving them without a
presented set of rules. All the members of my group, Using Elder
Futhark, now have nothing to refer to when they wish to read my posts,
their posts, or if they wish to post a discussion in that venue. This
rash ban effects more people than just myself."
If you feel, based on the evidence given (or if you have a personal
relationship with Beorc Kano) that the ban was in error, then I ask
tat you post to this thread, and add your name to the petition to
repeal his ban.

I will happily sign this petition. Beorc has always been nice to
me. And with the evidence provided, I don't feel that Beorc should be
banned.

I, too, make my mark on the petition. Beorc Kano's knowledge and
guidance on WT has been exceptional, and the comment he made does not,
in my eyes and experience as a moderator on other sites, seem ban-
worthy.

I will sign this petition as well. Beorc is one of the MOST
valuable members of this site. Synsual just crippled the site for NO
reason. I have seen way worse "crap in the chat" as she put it with
her involved too. This is not a reason to ban someone just like that.

Unfortunately the definition of "Truth" leads to a relativistic denial
of it, along with everything else. You ow doubt have achieved a closed
loop of bathetic insincerity, you believe the lies you have told
yourself, it is easier to fool oneself than it is anybody else, but it
is harder to hide from oneself than it is anybody else.
Ultimately, if not in this life, then the next, you will understand
"All" that you continue to whine about, and theoretically, the more you
go on about it, the more it occupies your consciousness the likelier it
is to happen sooner rather than later.
You have set currents in motion, and since you are the originating
source of the motion, it will all come back to you, hopefully you will
have learned to "go with the flow" before your transcendental tsunami
overwhelms you, but i suspect your the type that is headed for a
dramatic denouement.
