And Joseph, I agree with you. Our comments were deleted after we were
suspended from wiccanTogether.com. I feel that some of those comments
might have been useful to others.

[Mod Attention, Please] Deletion of Content: A Serious Objection

I absolutely understand the need to keep order. I respect and
appreciate our moderators for their desire to do so - it's not a job I
could handle with half the aplomb and patience they wield.
But I must strenuously object to the deletion of posts in the Forums
that simply belong to people who are the target of disciplinary action
by the moderators.
Let's be honest - this is tantamount to shooting oneself in the foot.
If this website is intended to act as a clearinghouse of information
on various forms of paganism, witchcraft and similar practices, then
by deleting this kind of information, you are working in direct
opposition not only to your stated intent here, but to one of the
major reasons people come here in the first place.
Already, there are a number of older threads in the forums that are
unreadable, useless messes because of such deletions. Posts that were
not in any way inflammatory or rules-breaking are deleted because they
were once posted by someone who later is the target of disciplinary
action.
Please - this needs to stop. Yes, people need to not get into the fire
this way, but the mods also need to please, please, please stop
deleting information that is good, useful and quite frankly part of
the reason people are here in the first place.
Thank you for your time and attention.
Regards,
Joseph Carriker
Looks like ren is never going to stop whining about being kicked
off WiccanTogether.com.
Do keep in mind that he's a pathological liar. The above could
be pure fiction.
Notice the lack of any links or addresses that would allow
someone to validate any of it, which is something that
_any_ anonymous poster has to provide if he/she wants
to be believed.

It's not fiction, however. I can't speak to ren's character, not
knowing him, but I'm the one who made that post.
I was brushed off with a comment about how Ning's software forces the
mods to delete the content of users they are banning - a claim that
has been proven false courtesy of Ning's own user manuals and FAQs.
Shortly thereafter, a big email was sent to the group as a whole,
telling us to quit raising ruckus (basically), because being a mod was
OMG Totally Hard.

This is unacceptable, Oakthorne. Basically the mods are silencing
everyone. They delete controversial threads and blame Ning. I know
that Ning software can deny access to an account without deleting any
of its content. I am a member of other Ning groups.
I belong to Ning Groups. I "thought" it said on the agreement any
content" would be deleted". I could be wrong, it has been awhile since
I went to Humanity Healing or the other million groups I joined on
Ning from there.

Whether you accept it or not has no relevance whatsoever.
You'll live with it.
Duh,

It's _their_ web forum, fool. They can run it as they choose.
I'd say that deleting the posts of a pathological liar
like you would be thoroughly appropriate. Your words mean
nothing except that you felt like posting them.
Ren is the most dishonest, deceitul, and corrupt human being
I've ever run across.
His righteous outrage is utter hypocrisy.
I would imagine that it is quite a difficult task. Especially
when they have to deal with malicious and deceitful vermin like
ren.

Ahhh.. Not Ning then. I know the mods can delete posts and on most
groups it will say so if you read the FAQ.
On my own group way back, not Ning, it was fairly hand in hand. If
the member was banned their content was immediately automatically
removed.
As a mod, I would remove it all. I mean it is tarnished enlightenment
or knowledge if the one who gave out the good info started behaving
like a lunatic or causing problems. Banishment/Warlocking included
throwing out material reminders of the person. It was an honorable
punishment then and holds up now.
Ren has given and ren has received. He is no different then anyone
else. You know that.
It is not about ren so much as the rules of moderation. Especially
when there is personality clashes.
You are talking pretty big here because it is unmoderated but you
would not last a second in one.
