The splendid thing about living in a relatively northern latitude
(even in southern England) is that the lengthening days start to
become apparent quite quickly after the solstice. Today it's 4.30 pm
and I've been watching the sunset. Yes, it's only later by a few
minutes, but it's wonderful how noticeable those minutes are.

The eclipse of the "blue moon" last night, complete with a rainbow
round the moon, was a beautiful end to 2009.

I wish for all of you what you would wish for yourself, and for the
world, in 2010.
