Hi--

The only way I can access this group is on the web, through google
groups. For some reason, my newsreader access to the same group and
others just doesn't work. I get messages like TCP/IP error, or unable
to contact server.

On the other hand, using the same newsreader, I can access the
microsoft groups, both sending and receiving. Any idea what's not
working right?

who is/was your newsgroup server? was it the same
as your ISP? If not, is it a premium service and
have you paid your subscription?

My ISP doesn't have too many ng's so I subscribe
to news.individual.net from Germany which has
EVERYTHING and cost about $10 per year which I
pay using Click and Buy service.

It could be that your ISP has dropped newsgroups,
it's not unheard of. Ask them. There are also
free newsgroup servers. Look at some of the NG
routing information and go to that website. You
may be able to sign up for some free server.

Google news is what a lot of people use and it
IS web based. There are a few idiosyncratic 'features'
in quoting previous posts and the like, but it
works for almost everything.
