A shooting at a Unitarian Universalist church, this morning, in
Knoxville, Tennessee.......just reported on CNN. No word of
casualties. I will send up a prayer for the church, and it's members.

Unfortunately, MSN reports that 1 person was killed, and 8 injured. An
unidentified man walked in, for a youth performance, and opened fire.
The gentleman killed, was the church usher, and longtime member.
Authorities said he was simply the first person the gunman encountered.
Simply random, in the wrong place, at the wrong time. He then opened
fire on the congregation, injuring 8 other members. He was then
tackled, by members of the congregation, and held, until the police
arrived to take him into custody.

And I heard on news last evening that the motivation of the gunmen was
because of the liberal theology.
This is radical fundamentalism - an every day event in Iran, but I pray to
God something that only happens in America when people loose their minds!!!!

I agree, the key is 'radical' fundamentalism. I don't believe we have
that many truly 'radical' Christians in this country. I'm not even
certain that the killer is a Christian? He did express his
anti-liberal bias as the reason he committed the shooting, but it
doesn't mean he is a fundamentalist Christian. He could just as
easily be motivated by conservative politics. I don't know, one way,
or the other.

Probably not a lot of "emotional difference in how it feels to be" a fundy
Christian vs. a hard right conservative.
Meaning, either of these topics seem to garner serious heart felt emotion in
many individuals.
