I was told once by Flora and the old man that if you put a little
cayenne pepper in the bushes it helps with those deer.
Personally? I like to take along a little extra plastic wrap and stuff
it in the bait. They have a better chance of choking than I do of
taking out the bull with one clean shot to the melon.

This reminds me of my Dad's approach to hunting. The strangest sounding
story he tells is herding deer to maneuver them past county health
inspectors. He says he did it for fun to see if he could manage it.
Deer are a lot more skittish during deer season so he wouldn't have been
able to do that except out of season.

One last comment I should have included in my thoughts. Not to be
intrusive into your path, but be aware you may be experiencing either a
conscription or recruitment process so to speak. Ensure you know what
and where your boundries are as you may be forced to choose a course
before you even have a map.
