This is the text version of my audio blog, which URL is:

http://ezekielk.tblog.com/post/1970041348

It is my letter to the editor sent to many newspapers across the
United States, list garnered from the following page:

http://theroadtoemmaus.org/1NET/Nws/NwspprAdd.htm

Locally, I posted to various gay rags (such as the Bay Area Reporter,
and the S.F. Bay Times) and other newspapers here in the San Francisco
Bay Area, such as the East Bay Express, The S.F. Chronicle, and the
S.F. Bay Guardian. Spread the word!

--begin letter:

President Obama:

I am a gay activist and progressive, and voted for you. In good faith
of course, that you would begin the desperately-sought resolution to
include gay people at the table of equal rights along with other
long-suffering minorities. My expectation was most reasonable for a
democratic politician: that, in spite of being against gay marriage,
you would denounce the unbridled homophobic vitriol from the
fundamentalist faction, that has been plaguing our nation for at least
two decades.

You could have selected any person of the cloth to open your historic
inauguration to represent the inclusive unity you so frequently
espouse. Among these choices for the opening prayer number many
ministers, preachers, reverends and priests who do not vociferate
anti-gay vitriol from the pulpit. Instead, you chose a most divisive
fundamentalist over a vast array of uniters...one who utters the most
vulgar and hateful words against our sexual minority citizens.

For a man of great intelligence (as you clearly are), I'm sure you
fully realize the implications of your choice. Which belies your claim
that you are a stalwart defender of gay equality. In fact, your
unfortunate selection gives tacit approval for fag bashers to increase
their attacks against sexual minorities in spite of our constitution's
mandate to keep church and state separate, and to protect any minority
from majority attack.

I must conclude that you have deliberately chosen to violate one of
America's most sanctified laws...for being so well informed and
worldly, you could not have made this choice out of ignorance. It is
tragic and shameful that you, America's first person of color to be
elected to the highest office of our unfair land, have chosen to
perpetrate the ignoble tradition of anti-gay persecution by
African-Americans at large. In so doing, you have given the green
light for furthering such bigotry, giving a thumbs up (as it were)
towards increased violence against homosexuals. (How so many who've
voted for you must now be dancing for joy that they'll also be rid of
those goddamned faggots for once and for all!)

President Obama: as one who is also well educated, intelligent and a
progressive, I can only conclude that--in spite of your excessive
IQ--you have failed to hold true reverance towards equal rights for
all minorities. In choosing to make gay people an exception to this
most American ideal, I have to conclude that, in spite of your
obvious intelligence, you are nonetheless a fool.

And, my enemy.

MOST sincerely,

Ezekiel J. Krahlin
San Francisco

be the first to defend the virtuous Obama against the next group of
people who felt slighted?

I suspect that like so many minorities, you are not seeking a "level
playing field" as is often espoused. Rather, it's a pernicious kind of
equality that is summed up with "I want to be more equal to make up
for my persecution". Grow up. A level playing field doesn't imply
favoritism, it mandates NO favoritism. If you want progress, the
example of Women in America and their climb to overcome social mores
would be an excellent example.

Time to killfile you.

Quick name any person of the cloth who is in favor of gay rights/gay
marriage who has not been tossed out of their respective church.

You haven't noticed the christian churches are very anti gay?
And that those who are sympathetic to gays are tossd out
on their ear?

I would point out i'm in favor of gay rights/gay marriage but
it's going to be hundreds of years before the US of A is
ready to embrace gay rights and gay marriage.

Also the US of A is extremely homophobic and the gay community
hasn't figured out how to fight that homophobia.

I personally have a big problem with the gay movement.

When it was first getting off the ground in the 1960's, it gained
general support among the progressives by being committed to
not-breeding in order to do something real about the population
problem. They called heterosexuals, contemptuously, "breeders".

Now, while there are scores of millions of desperate orphans in
the world, are they adopting them? No, they are breeding their
own children. This stinks.

Wrong. Gays want to be able to walk down the street
without some clown deciding that because they look gay
they have to smash them over the head with a crow bar
or kill them.

>

Let me guess....you're republican and call yourself
pro life except when that life is gay, a child
who wants to eat, or a child who needs medical care.

>Now, while there are scores of millions of desperate orphans in
>the world, are they adopting them? No, they are breeding their

Been there, done that. I tried to adopt years ago, too many
social workers (especially black ones) would rather have
the black child be in foster care until they age out rather than
have them adopted by a white family.

Also social workers want the kids in foster care and not
get adopted to preserve jobs for social workers.

Do you know what the qualifications are to
be a social worker? They need an associate degree.
That degree can be in zoology, anthropology, etc.
No degree in children required.

BTW, i'm not gay. But I was not acceptable as
an adoptive parent. (not in my 20s worth
a million dollars and unable to afford the
$120,000 they charge to buy a kid from
an adoption agency.)

Yes it's illegal to sell a kid unless you're
an adoption agency then you can charge
$120,000 to sell a kid.

And then once you buy the kid the birth mother
or the dad can come back and say they want the
kid back.

Adoption in the US of A is a joke.

Check out a denomination called Unitarian Universalism. I wish I
could say that it was 100% pro-gay marriage for all ministers, but
they do have a very large percentage and the overall denomination is
in favor of all gay rights. When I went to the local Prop 8 protest
in Boulder, one of the main speakers was a UU minister. I once went
to their national convention and the Sunday service that went with the
convention was led by a lesbian UU minister who told her and her
partner's story in beautiful and stirring words. (like having the
habit of closing the front curtains before you could kiss in your own
home) I am not offering you names over the Internet, but a little
google work should get you some encouraging info.

Have YOU considered reading or watching (or hearing) and of the GAY
and PRO-GAY outcries against the Warren selection? Obviously not. Most
likely you read NO news having to do with gays, you care not to stay
informed on the sexual minority matters. After all, you're not a fag,
why should you care? I doubt you'll listen to reason, which is my
suggestion to INFORM yourself why so many gay activists and their
liberal, hetero supporters, are extremely upset in this matter. But

Unitarian churches. Episcoplean churches. Various other churches
scattered throughout the US. I don't care to be sabotaged by your

Sounds to me, more like you WISH gay rights to remain a victory in the
distant future, than to see it happen now. Nice excuse for you to sit
on your fat pagan ass all day, and do NOTHING to help the gay cause.
In fact, you'd rather do whatever you can to DISCOURAGE gay people
from being treated as equals...such as by your posting this most
IGNORANT message.

I would point out that you CAN'T be in favor of gay rights, when you
espouse such obvious TRITE. Yet ONE MORE BREEDER who insists on being

Don't you realize that what you just said about gays (they're
emancipation a LONG ways off) was exactly what bigoted whites used to
say about blacks, way back before 1955?

I see. Once more, an obviously DIMWITTED hetero knows it all,
especially when it comes to the gay issue...and issue he or she most
likely has NEVER studied or researched. And also most likely, has
never picked up a single gay rag in his or her locality, nor read any
gay-relevant news online.

stereotyping and marginalizing sexual minorities. And DEMONIZING us in
order to INCREASE anti-gay violence. (While at the same time coming
off as sweet-natured and reasonable).

Right on! No one has to like heterosexuals either. I don't, I despise
'em for they arrogant and violent bullying those NOT just like them.
They're just a bunch of empowered breeding pigs who thrive off
scapegoating and violence, especially when promoted by their own
church and government. Simple minded breeder sluts.

> This is another example of what you have covered above, their demands
> for a more than level playing field.

Bullshit. The ONLY playing field EVER offered gays, is one filled with
landminds and hetero vipers. We are finally waking up to this obvious
fact that gays will have to RISE UP AND TAKE what is rightfully
theirs...'cause NO heterocentric society will EVER treat us as human
beings.

> I personally have a big problem with the gay movement.

Personally, I think you do...you have a VERY big problem with us
queers. You arrogance sticks out like a syphillitic thumb.

> Now, while there are scores of millions of desperate orphans in

I don't see you crying out against uncontrolled HETERO breeding, you
dinkus! Which IS the main cause for overpopulation. Yet, you would
scapegoat gays for the overpopulation issue, too? That's it, blame us
for every problem on this planet. How very un-pagan and pro-
fundametalist this is!

So here we see PAGANS scapegoating gays in the SAME manner as Xians
do. And NOT ONE SINGLE STANDING UP BY THE PAGANS HEREIN for gay
rights, for my letter posting great disgust with Obama's choice of
Rick Warren.

Oh, I get it: pagans don't REALLY care about queers, it was just a way
of coming off as more compassionat than those brainwashed Xians. Nice
job, you've certainly convinced me here, you snot-for-brains
heteroSETchoowul.

Well if you paid attention to my posts you would see I regularly speak out
against persecution of homosexuals in Muslim countries, same with Bahai's. I
speak out whenever someone's civil liberties are taken away. Even in Muslim
countries. I also notice they don't speak out about people's rights being

Wrong. I support gay rights and gay marriage (our state even
allows gay marriage....the only other state that had gay marriage.)

But the gay community has failed in attempting the sell the
issue to the masses. Take a close look at California.
In the days leading up to the ballot question the anti
forces failed to put a human face on the issue. In the days
after the ballot question passed the gay community put a human
face on the issue and now if it was on the ballot the question
would go down to defeat and gay marriage would survive.

File under closing the barn door after the horses have
escaped.

>I would point out that you CAN'T be in favor of gay rights, when you

>the last word on the gay issue. Dumb hetero pig.

Why becuase the gay community hasn't taken my advice that
they need to strategize about how to sell the issue to
the masses?

The US of A is an extermely homophobic country, it starts
at second grade when kids call other kids fags.

That is the wall the gay communnity is up against.
They need to figure out how to fight the battle.

>Don't you realize that what you just said about gays (they're
>emancipation a LONG ways off) was exactly what bigoted whites used to

Let me put it this way: i'm older than dirt, probably older than
most here. In many ways blacks have progressed alot since the
civil rights movement, but in many ways blacks are worse off
now than they were long before the 60s.

Young poeple are supportive and tolerant of blacks, older people
in their 70s 80s and 90s are still extremely intolerant of
blacks. I've got relatives who survived world war 2 who
are extremely prejudiced against blacks. That won't change
until they shuffle off this mortal coil.

When it comes to gay rights the movement is probably a good 100-300
years behind the civil rights movement. And that won't change
until little Johnnny in second grade stops calling little Bobby
in a fag. That is going to take many years to change that
behavior and foster that tolerance.

I wish it would happen faster but we have too many anti
gay morons in the US of A who produce off spring and
raise them to hate gays.

Welcome to 2009. Welcome to the real world.

That is not the worst punishment ~ it lacks the imagination of
Europeans. Recently the embryos were ripped from the bellies of soon
to be mothers and dead animals sewn up in the wombs so the women would
rot to death from the inside. Their crime? Being Muslim. Then, in the
glorious name of Jesus, they pinned all the female children and
systematically raped even the very youngest. Their defense for doing
so was that it was not sexual but to ruin them as suitable wives to
Muslim men in the future.

Even Wiccans kill, and they are far more bigoted than any other. Ever
meet a black Wiccan? All religious faith is chronic insanity.

Actaully, I have too, just recently. Worst Uncle Tom I ever met! He
read one of my posts and outed (I guess you'd call it). This guy has
fried brains to begin with. His IQ is in the eighties. Blacks are not
attracted to Wicca because it has a Northern European (Arian) motif.
Wicca is less than one hundred years old and nothing more than a
fantasy for those not equiped for real magick. The fantasy is Arian
focused. Being make believe, this reveals closet racism. Africa has an
ancient and far superior tradition of magic.

Christians are so sure that Jesus is the only way. They wouldn't keep quiet.

All religions inevitably cause atrocities, including Wicca. Pagans
committed horrid atrocities against the Christians. It took
Christianity just a few generations before they did worse. Wicca is
very young. It will cause the suffering all religions do when the time
comes. It is the nature of any group (fascist) faith

There is no reason to think any religion is the right way. There is
something systemically wrong with religion. But why should we need to
choose one. There is truth in all things. Why can't we be strong
independent individuals and take only what works for each one of us
personally from all religions without resorting to faith in any one of
them?

As far as I know, that's simply not true. Violence occurs in
Australia, much as it does in any other country...albeit less
frequently. Like in the US, you can practice whatever religion you
want, in theory...but it will usually cause you rejection and social
isolation, if you do not toe the mainstream line.

May as well also mention that homophobia remains a serious prejudice
in Australia (as it does in every western nation)...and Australian is
nowhere near free of racism.

I am not religious. I take what is useful from each religious system
but reject the religion. All religions are social manifestations. In
other words, one must join a fascist unit. A religion must be a group
faith or it does not qualify under the definition. I am member of no
group, denomination, or religion. I do study all attempts at
comprehending the Divine. It is fascist (group) faith that is the bane
of man. One man can think whatever, but the Nazi legions were the
force of the Holocaust. I am old enough to have known some of those
Nazis. They took themselves to be every bit as wholesome as any Wiccan
or Christian does.

No, I am not a racist. The name is a trap for closet racists. African
Americans frequently call each other nigger respectfully, as in, “my
nigger”. It is a way of honoring a fellow survivor of bigotry. If you
are a racist, you think negatively of the term “nigger wise”. What is
pointed out on the very first page of the site is that NIGGERWISE is
the highest of all wisdom.

Saying so doesn't make it so. Of COURSE the Nazis see themselves as
wholesome: they are the ubermensche! THE superior race. Seems that you
are talking about fanaticism more than just religion. ANY group that
becomes overly zealous about its purpose becomes a danger to
others...which fantics can also be politicians, atheists, scientists,
parents, teachers, you name it. If there's a "cause" you'll find the
"ism" too!

Oh wow, I had no idea. Thanks for a most enlightening explanation.

>If you

Hardly. As a caucasian, I am too respectful of blacks, to use that
term, whether in their presence or not. The word "n*gger" has a recent
history of violence and prejudice. The acceptance of that word among
blacks does NOT change one iota the hatefulness implied by such a word
when used by whites.

Right, and the press is free, too! If you believe that, I have a

On the surface, it may seem we are all free in the USA. But when you
break it down to income, you'll see that the poor have very little
freedom, while the wealthy are reeking with it! And the ranks of the
poor are growing on a vast scale these days.

If I can find a religion based on condemning heterosexual dogma, I

In truth, even our most advanced nations (which of course includes Oz,

to struggle out from under this very ancient form of power and abuse.
"Be fruitful and multiplyj" is one such ancient command that STILL

As regards political freedom and equality, Australia and the United

Yet EACH needs a lot more honesty and compassion to take the next

Yeah 911 is being used to excuse everything. But Australia has its own anti

Yeah but the government can't force people to tolerate others. We all have
free will. But yeah I guess gay people in small towns will have to stay in
the closet. I used to talk to someone who came from my old city of around
50,000 to 70,000 and said she had to move when she came out. I hear so many

It is an UGLY situation for gays most anywhere, even in our most
advanced nations, which of course includes Australia. Even Holland is
caving in to the homophobia of Muslim immigrants. Amsterdam's gay
neighborhoods have become rife with fag bashing, mostly Muslim
instigated. It is getting worse for gays EVERYWHERE, as the Pope, the
Muslim faith, and many other zealot groups contrive a global holocaust
fomented by gay hatred and scapegoating.

There will soon be marauding gangs and bloody streets filled with the
bodies of gay men and women whose "free will" is useless. Much as it
has been all along, only this cycle in history is a tad more
aggressive.

>I hear so many

What you think is "freedom" is but mere crumbs compared to the freedom
and luxury heteros take for granted--even the poorest of 'em--in a
society that caters every whichway hetero bonding, while with the
other hand, condemns and attacks same-sex unions. You are fortunate to
occupy a corner of the world where you know SOME freedoms...enough to
live a reasonably fulfilling life. Which could NEVER happen without a
fairly high level of income to bolster that.

I have fallen many years ago, out of favor with the middle class,
remaining on a low income for most of my life. Believe me, it really
sucks in Amerika to be poor...gays are no less class-conscious than
heteros, so being low income within the gay community is NO dream
come true, I can tell you that! No friends, no social network, no
decent jobs...in spite of my intelligence and talent.

It's just plain pathetic, and biased TREMENDOUSLY to favor
heteros...even if you out in the streets. LOTS of homophobia
everywhere.

Let me put it this way: if gays wait for heteros to turn it around
they'll be waiting for hell to freeze over.

Too many intolerant/ignorant heteros around.

And that won't change until many of the older heteros die off.

As it is i know too many older americans in their 70s 80s and 90s who
are not comfortable with blacks, gays. That will take many years to
overcome.

Intolerance is alive and well in the US of A.

Won't happen in my lifetime. Too many intolerant people.
And unfortunetly those intolerant people are in charge.

And the bottom line is someone who is tolerant of gays is
dead at the polls come election time.

You do realize for an elected official to come out in

Nope using fear and propaganda to gain support for a war is nothing new as
well.

Agreed it's not always the best thing to do.

I'm afraid so but you'd still be entitled to call one person and be charged
with a crime. The people arrested under the anti terror laws don't have
those rights.

Corrupt maybe but it still beats living under a religious dictatorship.

Well I don't think that. I just think governments like the current one just
doesn't follow it.

I think I understand why you think America isn't free now. I am a straight
white guy from a middle class family so I have it made. I don't live in a
little town with homophobic bigots like you probably did. Also I hate how
religion is used to justify these kind of atrocities. Jesus never said we
should hate gay people or bash them. But before you say the Bible does
remember the king James version (which most people quote from) was
manipulated by it's translators. I hope your vision of the future doesn't
come true and the fundamentalists Christian or Muslim (both are bad) don't
turn Australia's sort of secular government. But I admit they are a lot of
aussies who would love to bring back the burning times but for gay people
and I find that sad.

Nah. I just don't like to read verbal diarrhea.

You know, not to bitch but, chanking your handle to evade killfiles is bad
form.

What little YOU know, making false accusations! My regular news server
is down, so I have to resort to Google Groups to post. Ergo: two
different handles. Get over yourself.

Au contraire. I was referring to the difference between "Chief Thracian"
and "Zeke Krahlin".

Unlike you, I am not full of myself, nor do I have a persecution complex.

It's moot now. September 1993 will go down in net.history as the
September that never ended. - Dave Fischer in 1994, alt.folklore.net

The first recorded outbreak of this was Warren Burstein saying
"It's *always* September, *somewhere* on the net" in response to
a particularly Clueless outburst from Delphi.com on alt.folklore.urban,
in fall 1993. - Wendy M. Grossman, "net.wars"

I'm sorry your experience in the states was bad. I guess you had the same
view of America I have when you moved there.

So, you think Obama is just another warlord that's actually worse
corrupted and only cloaked as some kind of anti war mindset. Let's
hope you're not right, because it'll take nukes and 100% global
inflation the next time around.

Change the analogy slightly and maybe he can act as a 'mechanical
governor' over the engine of capitalism and keep it from a runaway
cascading, out of control harmonic amplification effect.

I say, as an Irishman and citizen of the world, give President Obama a
chance. Where the rest of the civilized world is concerned, he seems
to be moving in the right direction in his present obvious influence
on the White House. I think his presence will bring an end to the
suspicions of many Arabs about the U.S. being a Christian bastion. He
will gradually pull out of Iraq too. And he will be as good as George
Bush was toward helping maintain the pressure to keep the Northern
Ireland Peace Process alive and well and on track. Even though there
is not much anybody can do to stop the International Financiers
destroying the world economy, I think he may be a steadying influence
for good there too. So, let's give the man a chance, eh ?

Cheers,
Michael.
