Just read your article "Looking hate in the face". May the
tragedy you and your lover suffered quickly turn into a rapid
recovery and surprise victories! Now, about that article:

Since the rise in Muslim refugees to The Netherlands, this is no
longer true. Since the Dutch gov't gives EXCEPTIONS to the
Muslims (re. anti-gay rhetoric), though they have NEVER allowed
the same for Christians.
Since this is on the grounds that the Dutch gov't cannot oppose
any RELIGIOUS tenet, however abhorrent they might find it, and
since Muslim clerics claim OFFICIAL their homophobia...then the
gov't can do NOTHING. This is NOT the stance taken when it comes
to Christians and Jews: they CANNOT preach homophobia in the
public venues.
No doubt that since the Dutch have given the go-ahead for ONE
religious group to officially hate queers, the Catholics and
other Christians will use this to claim their OWN rights to
religious belief are being censored.
I have concluded that The Netherlands is NO LONGER very gay
friendly...for no matter how they PRESENT their excuses, they
are now CONSICOUSLY allowing and encouraging gay bashing to
spread and overtake the entire society.
IOW: We are at war, Chris. I would NOT go so easy on the Dutch
gov't for one. I'd CONDEMN them for setting up such ugly attacks
to happen with greater and greater FREQUENCY. And what about all
those conservative Christians NATIVE to Hollad? Now that the
Muslims are speaking out against homosexuals, all these
repressed Xian sects are now exploding with rabid intensity. And
of course, we queers are the target.
In fact, we are now the GLOBAL target par excellance...seeng as
the THREE major religions (Christianity, Judaism and Islam),
enemies in most every instance, but UNITED as never before on
this ONE issue alone: persecuting sexual minorities.
Once you morph your present reporting duties into one suitable
for wartime strategies, you'll prove to be a much more effective
soldier. Thanks for the courage to speak out as much as you
have...but you've only done HALF the job you were meant to carry
out.
Queers need to form nn allied, underground resistance ASAP. Some
of us will HACK global databases to disarm the globe and
redistribute the wealth where it's MOST needed first: to
liberate all sexual minorities. Then, we heal the rest of the
world, starting with Africa. HEALING includes first and
foremost, the elimination of homophobic ideas and actions.
Homophobia--being the most VIOLENT manifestation of machismo, and
most UNRESOVLED and UNIVERSAL of all prejudicies--is the ROOT
CAUSE of civil violence and global wars. NO society can call
itself "peaceful" if it continues to harbor great VEHEMENCE
against a select minority...in this case, against homosexuals.
Yet MOST societies today, CONTINUE to gauge their peacefulness
by EXCLUDING gay persecution as a measure.
Also, the European Union has begun to allow certain EXCEPTIONS
re. gay protection to some of the newer members, mostly from
Eastern Europe. And when a gov't transitions from giving
protection to taking it away...sure, the police will act very
concerned and emote over how they'd REALLY want to do SOMETHING,
but their hands are tied.
So, you and your boyfriend file a report, surrounded by all these
"loving", "responsible" Dutch police...then walk out, feeling a
little better thanks to their warm reception.
While BACK at the station, they're laughing their fat Dutch arses
off: "Haw, haw. Two more faggots bashed in the world's Gay
Mecca. Let's bring in MORE Muslim immigrants to CLEANSE our
society of these homo vermins."
Hasn't it occurred to you (and most OTHER queer
reporters/activists) that the Religious Reich here in Amerika
plans to NUKE San Francisco soon? Seeing as they are hell-bent
on bringing about Armageddon:
Don't you think it would be a feather in their cap to wipe out
their modern-day version of Sodom ("Gay Mecca")? And don't you
think that would TERRORIZE all queers to go back to the closet
FULL FORCE, and all queer-friendly heteros (what FEW we have) to
suddenly vanish?
We need to go UNDERGROUND in order to SABOTAGE their bases and
instruments of power. JUST LIKE the allied resistance of WWI and
WWII. But today, the MOST IMPORTANT skills that our best
soldiers need, are HACKING skills. For via cyberspace is where
the GREATEST powers prevail...or at least where the greatest
powers can be readily accessed and manipulated. Remember:
"There are no heteros in foxholes."

Sadly there are those who are certain of their worth and righteousness and believe
without doubt that they are the sons and daughters of light and have god and his
angels on their side. While so full of that confidence many may also believe that
all who disagree with them lack enlightenment and will or should be cast down.
