Jeff's show has just begun on WOAI and he has announced that scientology
will be one of the subjects, due to the recent Tom Cruise news.

I'm using Firefox browser and the windows media player, since the IE doesn't
work in my case here. Downloading Firefox is very quick from their site and
there is a link right on the front page for windows media player for Firefox
browser via Mozilla.

He's talking about scientology now. His show will be two hours long and it
started at 2pm.

I managed to hear the last 25 minutes or so (translates into about 15
minutes...Good Lord, does that San Antonio station have a lot of commercials
and station breaks clumped together or what?). Interesting was the last
woman caller towing the Scientology party line; she proceeded then to
gratuitously boast of possessing a PHD and having completed "eleven years"
of "college." I couldn't stop wondering in what field of inquiry she had
devoted such scholarly energy. Whatever it was, none of her academic

But I strongly suspect she was lying about her educational background. In
fact, I'm willing to crawl out on a fairly sturdy limb and wager 10,000,000
XENU BUCKS that she has no PHD.

Also interesting were the closing remarks by the host. He pointed out to the
listening audience (as if this were really necessary for their behalf, but
I'm glad he did because it indicated that he indeed grasped the sinister
character of the Scientology cult) that any organization that attracts so
much negative attention and critical commentary in proportion to so very few
positives, must at the very least have some serious institutional problems.
I hope he continues to investigate the cult further in order to realize how
serious this understatement really is.

I came in at the end of the second hour of the show, Gerry was nowhere
in evidence (5pm MDT). Bolton, in a short minute or two at closing has
repeated that he cannot believe the overwhelming, strident criticism of
$cientology by callers and that it seems illogical to him that *anyone*
could be attracted to a group that has this poor reputation.
Congratulations to those critics who have sown the seeds of knowledge.

That sucking sound is the kult flushing itself down the toilet bowl of
existence.
