To me, NOTs 34 is a significant document, I like to think of it as a 
companion to NOTs 22. This post might help to clarify my personal view 
on how the cult claims to their patrons to diagnose, treat, cure, and 
prevent physical diseases with the help of an E-Meter device, while 
simultaneously claiming for legal reasons that they only handle 
psychosomatic illness.

I am not a lawyer, but I believe claiming to diagnose, treat, cure, or 
prevent physical disease through E-Meter auditing is in violation of 
the law, and of specific court orders given to the cult itself as part 
of the major case over its E-Meter which it lost. I'm no expert, and 
perhaps others can straighten me out on any factual errors I might make 
here.

Psychosomatic disease is different, in the legal sense, I believe. It's 
legal for a non-MD to claim to handle psychological illness. It's also 
legal to claim "faith healing" of physical illness, where having faith 
can cure you, I believe. But this cult doesn't claim faith healing. It 
clearly and repeatedly says faith is not involved and not necessary. So 
let's leave faith out of it. And I believe for legal reasons, the cult 
doesn't claim medical treatment, it only claims mental treatment, which 
is legal.

Isn't it lucky then, that it turns out that according to the cult, that 
virtually all physical illness is in fact psychosomatic! Everything 
from colds to allergies to blindness and nerve deafness can actually be 
psychosomatic! Caused by thought alone. Amazing!

NOTs 22 helps explain, and it makes the claimed mechanism clear - once 
you know about your infestation by ALIEN BEINGS. Let's review the truth 
about humanity as the cult explains it. NOTs assumes you know this 
secret. Here's my own take on it:

You are not an Earthling. I'm not an Earthling either. You and I came 
from one of the 76 nearby planets in the galactic confederation. How 
did we get here, and why don't we know we are in fact aliens? Well, 
it's an interesting story. While I don't recall it myself, the writings 
of dead cult founder L. Ron Hubbard explain our history - the history 
of all of us on this planet.

Well, we were sitting around on our home planets watching TV or 
whatever we did then, when we get a notice to come in for a tax audit. 
The thing is, when we show up we got kidnapped! We got frozen, packed 
up, boxed up, loaded, and shipped on space planes here - to Earth, the 
desert prison planet. You, me, and hundreds of billions of our 
neighbors end up here on this godforsaken planet. Why? And who did 
this?

His name was Xenu. He used renegades. He was the elected ruler of the 
confederation, and when he realized he was about to become unelected, 
he decided to go out with a big bang, and solve the huge overpopulation 
problem at the same time. He grabbed us! And shipped us the out of 
there, to here. But Xenu wasn't done yet.

We get here, we then get trapped by his electronic ribbons, we get 
attached to Earth's various volcanos. Xenu knows mental implantation 
techniques. We get zapped by electronics. We get rocked with 
explosions, as H-Bombs are dropped in the volcanos making them explode 
(no, that's not an erupting volcano on the cover of Dianetics and all 
those ads, is an H-Bomb-explosion in a volcano, and it's there to 
stimulate the incident I'm relating here, an event the cult calls 
"Incident II".)

Zapped, rocked, socked, buffeted, we are forced to watch ultra real 3D 
movies for over a month, eyes open ala "Clockwork Orange." We are 
brainwashed. Implanted. We are made to forget. We forget our home 
planets, that we are aliens, that we are immortal, incorporeal beings 
with unlimited power over matter, energy, space and time. We now think 
we are mortal, we now think we have a single short lifetime, that we 
get sick, that we need to pay federal taxes. Yes, the sacred scripture 
relates these specific effects of the ALIEN MIND IMPLANT known as "R6". 
One of the main documents that does so is "Operating Thetan III", which 
is normally kept secret from you until you've paid enough in time and 
cash value to be prepared to accept the truth of this revelation.

And we respond like a clock to R6. We, powerful but now unknowing 
souls, are "sticky" We tend to cluster, we tend to glom ourselves onto 
the native debris of this pathetic planet. Rocks, trees, plants, 
animals, jellyfish, clams, even those ugly bags of mostly water we call 
"humans".

That meat you're in - that human animal - it's not you. You just THINK 
it is you. YOU are the immortal being, the soul, the "thetan", merely 
deluded into thinking it is a human. You think for the human body, 
control it, make it move. You think you die when it dies, but no - 
you'll pick up another body and go through the cycle again - and again, 
unless... Unless the spell of the R6 and other mind implants can be 
broken.

But if hundreds of billions of us were brought here, and there are only 
a few billion humans on the planet, where are the rest of our fellow 
thetans? As mentioned, some of them got so zapped that instead of 
sticking to and thinking they are humans, they think they are rocks, 
trees, animals, even human body parts like an arm or a stomach, and 
even intangible things like thoughts. And since we thetans tend to 
stick together, some of them are stuck to us, thinking they are parts 
of us or even thoughts we have.

We are infested, each of us, with at least hundreds of other thetans. 
These "body thetans" are in us, near us, affecting us, our thoughts and 
our physical bodies. Our thetan controls the human, but there are 
other, more-zonked thetans also stuck to us, affecting us, our 
thoughts, our bodies.

It's quite a catastrophe Xenu caused for us, and it's quite a problem 
we all have.

NOTs 22 explains that a dormant, incorporeal fellow being stuck to our 
body (a "body thetan" or BT) can wake up, and when it wakes up it 
_acquires mass_.

Remember, deep down inside we have powers over matter, energy, space 
and time. A waking BT can think up, or "mock up" as the cult calls it, 
_physical mass_ within us. This is the key connection between the 
mental and the physical, that allows physical things to be mentally 
caused - by the BTs infesting us!

Dead founder Hubbard has taught and written in his scripture that he 
has measured clinically a change in weight up to thirty pounds in a 
person, because of their BTs mocking up mass.

The thoughts of the BTs infesting us create mass, and this mass affects 
us physically. It can press against a nerve, for example, cutting it 
off and causing blindness, deafness, catatonia. NOTs 22 explains the 
mechanism - specifically, it says, nerve deafness, for example, can be 
caused by cut off nerves caused by mass impinging on the nerve, the 
mass caused by the thoughts of the BT ALIEN BEINGS inside you.

NOTs 22 shows us that such physical illness is at its root 
psychosomatic - caused by thoughts alone. The thoughts of the 
brainwashed buddies infesting you - your Body Thetans. Other documents 
throughout the scripture specify many other ailments you thought were 
physical are in fact psychosomatic, such as leukemia or cancer.

NOTs 34 explains how to diagnose, treat, cure, and prevent such 
physical conditions by use of E-Metered auditing. The E-Meter, the 
device the cult is prohibited by court order from claiming to help 
diagnose or treat or cure or prevent physical illness, is used in every 
step of the diagnosis, treatment, cure, and prevention of the physical 
condition.

The procedure in NOTs 34 is based on using the E-Meter to find the BTs 
causing the condition and making them "blow" from your body. Each 
exorcism is accomplished by an auditor with his E-Meter. Many BTs may 
be involved in the condition, and each class of BT must be exorcised in 
a specific sequence.

What happens to the "blown" BTs, beings just as wronged as you 
yourself? Who cares, as long as they're gone, we are busy freeing you, 
the owner of the human body, the one with the wallet.

Suppose you ate some bad food and have food poisoning - a bad stomach. 
NOTs 34 explains the procedure. First, any delusional BTs that think 
they are the food must go. Then, BTs that think they are your stomach. 
Then, BTs that think they are the illness of food poisoning. Then, get 
those BTs who mistakenly think they are the cure for food poisoning. 
Then, get the BTs that have a problem with you being cured of food 
poisoning. By now some more BTs are probably thinking they are your 
stomach, so get those next. Then, get any new BTs that have started 
thinking they are the bad food. Finally, you clean up BTs that are 
dwelling on your illness - make them go home, nothing to see here... 
And you win! The whole thing is so quick and reasonably priced, you'll 
hardly realize where your cash went.

The auditor uses the E-Meter to help diagnose that your physical 
condition is in fact caused by BTs; he uses it to help treat the 
problem by determining which BTs are responsible and their 
classification; he uses it to help cure the patient by addressing each 
BT in the sequence, getting them to leave; then he uses it to help 
prevent further problems by auditing you for the rest of your physical 
and financial life for some reason or another.

NOTs 50 is interesting because it documents some physical improvements 
caused by auditing.

The goal of all this is to give you back your mind. Once you understand 
the story, and what you really are, you will have TOTAL FREEDOM. You're 
going to realize your immortality and your power over this universe, 
even your ability to create new universes. You aren't brought to God - 
you ARE a god.

That's theology. People can believe what they wish. But the point here 
is, the cult claims to cure physical conditions in the domain of 
licensed MDs. And NOT by faith healing. And, the procedures uniformly 
involve the use of the "E-Meter" skin galvanometer, the device ordered 
by court not to be claimed able to diagnose, treat or heal physical 
medical conditions. In fact, each device is to have a label saying it 
has been "condemmed". But read the words on current E-Meter disclaimer 
label and compare it with what the court ordered.
