I heard it's internal squabbling again.

Anonymous can't cope without lots of pics, videos and txt. Plain text is
plain!
Seriously though Usenet and WWW forums are different ways of
communicating, both have their good and bad points, and as Google news
illustrates they don't mix well.

Hilarious. They make it and then BAW, when it gets better than they
ever expected.
Was it? OK, well sometimes having your 'friends' hack you can expose gaps
in your security that your enemies could exploit for real.
Indeed, both sites were "rooted"/hacked.
Losers who got jealous is my guess.
It's a different outlook on things. To Anonymous, forums are temporary
things only of interest to themselves. If one falls, others pop up to
replace it. As a defence mechanism, it works.
That's fine for internal purposes, but for dealing with the wider world
it's crap. The media need stable Sources they can use, and that means ARS
and OCMB. ARS cannot by its nature be taken down as it is close to the
original non-hierarchical setup of the Internet that was designed to
survive a nuclear holocaust. OCMB cannot be taken down because Andreas is
in Norway, a country that delights in giving Amerika the finger.
The other boards are icing on the cake, the more the better. What matters,
as Anonymous are slowly learning, is the web of trust and personal
contacts that the cultists cannot penetrate because they are so alien to
their worldview.

Yes, but when one forum admin collects a bunch of money and then just
disappears, basically stealing it, it makes future fora less likely to
be able to get much when they pass the hat. Bandwidth costs money.

This wasn't taken down by legal means. It was hacked. If the chans
took an interest, it would be down, too. At least for a while before
being hardened. Also, OCMB is considerably lower volume than
Enturbulation and WWP have been.
Also, I don't think the people on WWP necessarily care as much about
traditional media as we had to back in the '90s. More and more, we're
our own media, and having to use these broken media at all any more is
getting increasingly frustrating. I'm looking forward to discarding
them like the trash they are.

Apparently WWP will be back up within a couple hours. It's just a
matter of restoring from backup and tightening things up a bit. (At
least until the next time.)

I was picking through the DB query language saving things of as a

Part of the problem might be the expense of running the web site and
the need to keep the bills paid. Since nobody gets paid to oppose the
Scientology crooks, volunteers have to scrape up the cost of running
things and that can cause division among the ranks easilly.
Well said Henri. More and more the traditional broadcasters are
moving to the Internet. Land that Anonymous was weaned upon. I
donated to Enturb. I donated to WWP. I will continue to donate to
all these groups regardless of rumours etc.
Know what? I like these young folks with their pretty pics and
avatars and such. [guess I'm easily distracted by bright and shiny
things! ]

When that happens, you'll let us know, won't you, Mary, ya frothing cunt?
Thanks.

It did, you dumb, pig-ignorant cocksucker. Ask where the money LE
collected for Enturbulation went, you dim shit.
Don't be too harsh on Fred. He had a rough trip back through the Van Allen
radiation belt which is hotter than most people think. (L Ron Hubbard knew
how hot it is!)

Pay attention, Mary, ya frothing Republican.
It's really quite amusing that Anonymous can't escape being human. We
usually react to what one Comment called 'moral faggottry', ie the other
guys having their ethics in, by getting angry. In this case the Anonymous
who weren't interested in attacking Scientology are getting upset because
they are seen as uncaring kiddies. Well they are, so they should shut up
about it.
