So many details, it has to be real, especially there are issues in there
covered before by Larry. Larry posts here, so he could confirm this is
genuine.

I think all scientologists who choose to speak out should file
affidavits about their knowledge of important facts about Church of
Scientology. Imagine if we didn't have all these affidavits from the
past. They have been rarer after the 90s.

These affidavits also act as a protection, better if explicitly stated
as seen in this affidavit:

"4. I have reason to believe that organized scientology will try to
prevent me from giving such details, including possibly physical harm to
myself. Thus I wish to make one thing clear now. I am of sound mind and
happy in my life and look forward to living many more years of life. I
have no desire to commit suicide. Should I die and it appear that “I
committed suicide” I wish to point out I would never do that and I would
wish to request an investigation into organized scientology and
Miscavige as potentially being behind my death."

With a sociopathic leader at the head of a Church of Scientology
corporation being exposed for what it really is, we can't be complacent
with the "cornered rat syndrome" as it has been said before.

Larry Brennan is who he claims to be.

As with all claims of fact in affidavits, people can quite reasonably
have different accounts. Nothing, however, in this raises any warning
signs for me.

There aren't very many people who know enough about the
corporate/ecclesiastical distinction in Scientology, the purposes of
the corporate structure, and how it was set up that way. From the
fact that Brennan answers some long-standing questions in a plausible
way, my early view of his posts and this affidavit is that he knows
what he's talking about.

I'd take this very seriously and I think he could also testify
credibly as to the facts he alleges.

Relax Tom,
You're not a scientologist, remember?
Your actions arent dictated by Hubbards Cloaking Technology©2008.
You will hardly be affected by the demise of this criminal organization
other than having to find new trolling grounds for your rants.
We will miss you Tom, your daily insinuations and verbose attitude towards
what is clearly a complex issue were at best entertaining, and at worst an
indicator that there is no level you wont stoop to in order to fulfill your
gross need for attention.
I seldom read your posts, the majority of them intended to inflame and
obfusciate the issues at hand.
I look forward to ignoring your posts in the future and I would ask that my
fellow readers do the same.
As for the entity known as scientology/dianetics, the truth speaks for
itself, it has many voices.
Scientology is a criminal organization that requires stealth and secrecy to
exist and thrive, the truth is the simplest solution to this threat.
May The Twinkie Be With You.

The Church of Scientology isn't going anywhere.

that's just because you are incredibly ignorant and deluded.

Well, you know, physical abuse, serial perjury, knowingly exposing young
people to blue asbestos dust: Miscavige isn't doing anything that Hubbard
wouldn't do.

Some "religion."

"I can state without doubt that the overwhelming main reason that
organized scientology developed and pushed its religious cloaking was
to avoid a myriad of real or potential legal problems that would exist
by following Hubbard’s policies if it were not considered a religion."

Wow, just wow.

Scientology spawns from a "science of the mind" called Dianetics.
Despite Hubbard's claims, there is no science in dianetics. What has
been tested, shows that dianetics simply does not work.

So they seem to disregard any objective scientific claims made in
dianetics and morph the whole thing into an untestable applied quasi-
religious pseudo-scientific philosophy called Scientology. Now the
apparent architect of this transition comes out and states the
maneuver was a deliberate move to avoid legal problems.

Any guesses on how the collective will try to rationalize this
affidavit?

1. It's a psych conspiracy.
2. I once met Hubbard and he would never do that.
3. I once talked to someone who said this affidavit is a fake.
4. These aren't facts, they're opinions, just sayin'
5. Scientology works for me.

Tom, are you opening yourself up to a libel lawsuit again?

Calling a sword affidavit a pack of lies is a lot different than calling a
usenet post a pack of lies. You'll realize this once you come up to

In another post, titled alt.RELION.scientology, I did my best to give
Scientologists the benefit of the doubt that scientology was a
religion by asking some religion based questions. Tom suggested I ask
Jonathon, as he was here. I did so and Jonathon ignored my post.
That's OK, there is no requirement that he answer my question, but it
would have provided him the opportunity to discuss a Scientology
religious question with someone who was trying to maintain an open
mind.

Now I read Mr. Brennan's affidavit and, if untrue, he is slandering
the Church of Scientology, so I ask the two Scientologists (according
to Jonathon) who respond to posts here, do you agree that Mr.
Brennan's statements in his affidavit are slanderous?

If untrue, and therefore slanderous, would it not be consistent with
past CoS management protocol to sue Mr. Brennan for all he's worth and
also attempt to have criminal charges brought against him?

What Mr. Brennan's statement indicates, if true, is that the
leadership of Scientology knows that the religious nature of
Scientology is for convenience and legal reasons only. So is
Scientology a religion because its parishioners believe it to be so,
or is it not because the leadership knows it is not?

A lawsuit brought by the church against Mr. Brennan would indicate
that Mr. Brennan may be lieing. Silence from the church would be
extremely inconsistent and would indicate Mr. Brennan is being
truthful.

Which will we observe, silence or lawsuit?

Actually, the CoS has a history of instigating litigation regardless of
merit. "The purpose of the suit is to harass and discourage rather than
win," Hubbard wrote. If anything is an indication of Brennan's truth it
will be the *result* of any lawsuit, not the lawsuit itself.

True, either silence or a result indicating that Mr. Brennan's
statements are truthful, would indicate that Scientology is a religion
for legal reasons only.

36. The true danger lurking behind those corporate veils and hidden
behind religious cloaking is organized scientology’s intention to
control the legal systems and educational systems of the world, to rid
the world of its enemies and it apply its brutal ethics policies
to everyone. That is what is in store for the world should the policies
of organized scientology be applied throughout the world. It has long
been the intention of organized scientology to do the above as it uses
its front groups like Narconon, Applied Scholastics, the Way to
Happiness Foundation etc. to get inroads into society for organized
scientology.
