Volney Mathison was a chiropracter who wrote about past lives and reincarnation, and
the so-called "founder of chiropractic" also wrote a 1914 journal entry about astral
beings. The word was not "sublaxation" back then... it was "auto-suggestion"

D.D. Palmer - the Founder. At the end of the 19th century, when D.D. Palmer came on the
health care scene, medicine was leaving an era of proclaimed cure-alls to pursue more
scientific investigation into the treatment of disease. D.D. reasoned that the body had
an ample supply of natural healing power transmitted through the nervous system. If a
single organ was sick, it must not be receiving its normal nerve supply. That led to
the premise of spinal misalignment, or subluxation, and from there to a procedure for
adjusting the vertebrae. D.D. performed his first adjustments in 1895, relieving one
man of deafness and another person of heart trouble. Arrangements were made to train
others in the application of the chiropractic principle. The Palmer School and Cure was
founded in 1897 and was later incorporated under the laws of Iowa. The school later
became the Palmer School of Chiropractic.

Sometimes, of course, there IS a single massive major event at the bottom of all the
trouble. The more common types involve concussive blows, serious physical illnesses or
injuries, or the like. A hazarded guess is that about 10% of the cases that arrive in
therapy rest upon a single deeply-buried massive event, and about 10% rest on the
cumulative effect of a long-duplicated series of events of a consistent negative
pattern.
And what about the remaining 2%?
These are the cases which under the most extensive Electropsychometric assessment do
not disclose any single major injurious past event, or any duplicated pattern of minor
negative tendencies. These are the kind of cases that are sometimes used to bolster the
mystical theories of reincarnation, and of more or less conscious awareness of
experiences of past lives. This special type of case will be dealt with in some detail

They are using an old style Matheson meter. References to
"Drop in tone" refer to the tone arm moving downward or what
would be called a long fall (LF) or long fall tone arm blowdown
(LFBD) in modern terminology.

LRH: Entheta - The entheta is actually, like anything
that is under duress, these entheta beings - we shouldn't
be calling them entheta beings - we ought to be calling
them Targs... That's the proper name.
MSH: Crash!
LRH: Targs - Some of them are Targs. There are several
other kinds. There are other kinds than Targs.
MSH: Where did you get the name - Targ?
LRH: That's common in a lot of theta languages. It means
slave. Entheta slave.
MSH: You got a drop
LRH: Lower order slave. Body holders- horse holders -
boot polishers. Entheta is really (?)
I guess there may be some other prison planets out in
this galaxy.
MSH: Are there any other planets which are (?).
LRH: I think flying saucers right now that's coming to
dump off more theta beings. -Ah, dump off more entheta,
enthetaed beings. Targs.
MSH: Mmhm
LRH: What they're dropping down here is Targ ridden. It's
a desease - somebody gets Targ ridden - gets unbalanced.
The thing to do is not so much how to know how to get rid
of the Targs but how to straighten out Targs. - No drop?
MSH: No drop - Targ doesn't want to be straightened out.
LRH: What?
MSH: Maybe Targ doesn't want to be straightened out.
LRH: They want the theta being to be straightened out. No,
they got to control theta beings or die. These have been so
disobedient. The trouble is they're under terrific
conservation. You can't kill 'em. You can banish them but
they keep theta blind. In a blind theta trap. Earth is
psychopathic.
MSH: Nice drop.
LRH: There's no problem about it. I know what makes a Targ
operate. He operates just like a theta being operated. He
gets aberrated. He gets down tone scale. He gets stuck in
