Truly....that is the greatest thing about Scientology....for you, and you and
you.
If you take a simple piece of data like the ARC triangle.....and just look at
it,
you will see how it works.

Take a triangle.....and here is the first lesson:

We will say there is an A on one corner.

a C on another one.

an R on the other corner.

So A stands for Affinity. The degree you like someone, or
want to be close to them.
R stands for Reality.....this has to do with agreement. To
the degree we agree on something, it is real to us. Let's say we say we like
ARS. You all think "Yeah! So do we!" So we would have established a point of
Reality.

C stands for Communication- the ability to exchange ideas
or information from one person to the other, and have it be duplicated or
received by
the other person.

These A, R, and C all equal Understanding.

So IF you ever want to increase your ARC or liking for another...all you have
to do is raise one corner of the triangle, and it will raise the others. Have
you ever had someone just smile really nicely at you, and you feel closer to
them? That is Affinity. And your ARC for them comes up. See?

That's the first lesson. Let us know what you think.

IT is a terrific subject, all in all. But it is late....so time
to catch some zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz's.

Hope you all have a great Tuesday!

Magoo!

Do the sides of the triangle remain at a constant length? Are the angles of the triangle a constant 120 degrees? Or is there some elasticity?

OK, that "works". It's just a simplified way of expressing some basic
principles of communication that are hardly new to Hubbard. But one part does
not prove the whole.

You could at least have tried to complete the example. I've been lurking a
long time, and I can hardly recall any scientologists even bothering to make a
good exposition of basic scientological principles. That is a major
shortcoming in communication, and such flaws in approach are one of the reasons
that I think many who visit here, even those without presuppositions, end up
with serious doubts about whether scientology is a workable whole.....

Why do the corners represent A, R and C, why not the sides?
Do the angles of the corners signify something? Do they vary?

Raise one corner in relation to what? If the triangle gets larger,
doesn't that mean that affinity, reality and communication get
further away fom each other? Do you get the best understanding
when the triangle has become infinitely small and A, R and C
coincide?

Magoo:
Your triangle can not work. There is no such thing as ARC - it is an
invention. Scientology does not work
-if it did and you had control over MEST things would not be as they ae
would they? Nope - there are
no OT's not here not anywhere. L.Ron Hubbard was a third rate hack who only
wanted MONEY<MONEY<MORE MONEY
-make people produce to make MORE MONEY. Dianetics does not work. In
fact, having read Dianetics, Self Analysis,
and other works from COS I can safely say it is quite possible that L.Ron
Hubbard was certifiably insane.

The triangle is made up of points, not nodes.

Elasticity in geometry usually speaks of intervals between "ends" to
use a tensegrity model contex. Ie: a spring

That is what you classicly call a open teaching of something very
commonly esoteric. Pray tell how blind people obtain affinity from a
'smile'?

One of the other fallacys of this theorys is that the value judgement
on the worth/importance of a smile has to fall into a widely accepted

standard between the actors.

A smile is actually a stress/tension response by the brain to take
tension from the limbic system.

This is classic mind control rhertoric. "Put on a smile and you feel
better." And you have a bunch of grinning goons walking around
passing our flowers totally desensitized to the original reason why
they are in a state of negative stress, which is distress.

Try this at the local zoo IN the gorrilla cage and see how far it
takes you.
