I'm a long time lurker and have decided to de-lurk to share info I've
gathered over the past few years. I really didn't want to post until I
understood the ins and outs of Scientology (as well as these
newsgroups) and I think I have learned enough now to put this whole
thing together to where it makes sense.

I live and work in Ybor City, the historic district of Tampa, FL. For
the last few years I have worked at a business located on 8th Avenue.
Back around the middle of 2003 the Scientologists opened their
business across the street.

Everybody at work was curious about them wondering if their "church"
was a cult or not. When the Scientologists started coming into our
business they all seemed friendly enough, but they rarely came without
trying to convince us to come over and take a stress test. A few of us
did it just for laughs. We noticed a few things right off the bat:
they don't have much of a sense of humor and they seem to have the
coldest gaze. That solid stare spooked a few of the girls at work, so
we just treated them respectfully as customers and kept our distance.

As time went by we started seeing them act in strange ways--like
chasing people down the street trying to get them to come inside
their building. That's when I got on the internet and read xenu.net
and other sites and eventually found this newsgroup (which I have read
with interest for almost 3 years now).

I made a point to get to know the regulars (the Scientologists who
come to work everyday to recruit on the streets of Ybor). They're
really a pretty scary bunch when you put together the facts I've
collected from the internet and from speaking to them.

So, I'm delurking now in order to report about the creepy group across
the street--starting with the person who is apparently the Executive
Director of the Ybor Org, Peggy. I was able to find a lot about Peggy
on the internet. Seems that she's been married a few times (not a good
example for a church that offers all the solutions for relationship
problems). Her name is Peggy Guignon Haag.

Poor Peggy. She's a scraggly skinny woman with bad hair who runs
around the streets of Ybor City frantically trying to recruit what
you'd call "raw meat". She wears these really loud color clothes so
you can't miss her as she freakin' runs down the street with arms
flapping, chewing gum like a cow chewing its cud. Her hair has been
dyed too many times so her head looks more like a lacerated eggplant.

I don't think old Peggy realizes how her frantic, manic body language
scares off the people she's trying to suck up to--all the while
chewing that gum with her mouth wide open (we call people like that
"open mouth breathers").

Peggy is the first one I studied about on the internet. First off, I
know she's not much of a business woman because she lost a shitload of
money with those Scientology scammers (Reed Slatkin and Digital
Lightwave over in Clearwater). I can't figure out why the main
"church" would trust her with running a business for them when she
keeps losing her shirt in bad business deals.

So then I found her current husband, Gerhard Haag. He seems to be a
con man too. From what I found, the guy seems to have laundered money
for the church when he was living in Germany. It also seems that he
made a very hasty retreat to the States when the German government
caught him. When I found this info it hit me--DUH---- the
Scientologists always preach about being so ethical and all.

Now he operates another scam: Robo Parking! Hahahah, what a GOOFball.
He managed to con some town in New Jersey (I think Hoboken) to buy
into his crappy invention and they got stuck with a huge bill and a
completely unreliable parking system. Last year I heard that he was
trying to unload one of these scam parking systems on a restaurant
here in Tampa, but the owner got clued in on good old Gerhard 's
background and blew off the deal.

It's a good thing Peggy doesn't have to rely on her con artist husband
to support her, but I don't see the Ybor City Org as being any key to
her success either. She and her posse of steely-eyed recruiters are
running that place into the ground. It's always empty (even when we're
doing great business across the street). I don't know how they're
paying the rent, there's no way they're selling enough books to cover
their monthly nut.

The few people that do go in there are usually going in to goof on
them and they sometimes end up coming across the street to tell us how
creepy they all are. We all laugh and tell them that they're worse
than they seem. They're the total joke of the neighborhood. Even the
tattoo parlor around the corner put up a sign in the window warning
about Ybor being a cult recruiting zone! hahahah

But I know that Peggy tries hard to fit in. She goes to the Chamber of
Commerce meetings and tries to suck up to the business owners there.
But they know she's wacked out and, like us, they just try to be
polite in order to get away from her (sort of like how you would treat
a mental patient).

For the past year or so we see a lot of people in uniforms coming in
to the Scientology building. (What's with all those keys on their
belts?) They look very impressed with themselves and seem to run all
over Peggy and her posse. It's pretty obvious that these kids in the
uniforms realize that Peggy is not running the place right because
they're definitely in charge when they're in there.

Her group of fellow recruiters are really an strange bunch. First, the
most unfriendly one: Ruby Francheska Keskitalo (she lives in
Clearwater with Antti Keskitalo, (727) 449-2119, 1803 Sunset Dr,
Clearwater, FL 33755 (I don't know who Antti Mikel Keskitalo is, I
assume it's her husband or Dad, but he hasn't taken courses in a
really long time:

http://www.truthaboutscientology.com/stats/by-name/a/antti-keskitalo.html

so maybe it's her Dad. I found an Anat Keskitalo, so that must be
her Mom:
http://www.our-home.org/anatkeskitalo/myself.htm

I alsofound Anat listed as a WISE member in 2001

http://www.whyaretheydead.net/misc/work/wise_2001_directory.html

listed as: Keskitalo, Anat, 200 Starcrest Dr, Apt 272,Clearwater, FL
33765-3817 Tel. (1)727-298-0808 Consultants). Her dad seems to be
involved with some scam called Empowerism based in Atlanta, GA. (Is
that a Scientology company?), Ruby is a shark-faced woman who the
residents of Ybor describe as the "frizzy-haired ghoul" (I think her
job is local OSA or DSA).

Then there's Linda Tucker, the course supervisor, the steely-eyed
crone who, with Ruby, spends time trying to recruit (since there's
nobody in the course rooms and the building is empty). Linda

http://www.truthaboutscientology.com/stats/by-name/l/linda-tucker.html

appears to have been a Scientologist since 1989, but it sure took
her a long time to get up to OT6 and according to this page, she
hasn't taken any courses since 2003. I found this old picture of Linda
here: http://www.scientology.org/wis/wiseng/17/17-08.htm and MAN has
she changed. She is totally white haired now and now she's very skinny
with a bad slouch (all hunched over). It says on this page that she
was an Office Manager at the time. I'll bet, based on how worn out she
looks now, that she wishes she was still doing that instead. Linda is
married to Sherwood Samuel Tucker, a dentist in Clearwater ( Sherwood
Tucker, DDS, 611 Druid Rd E # 507, Clearwater, Florida (FL) 33756-3938
PH (727) 461-2322) who seems to be rocketing up the bridge lately
--from Clear to OT5 in one year!

http://www.truthaboutscientology.com/stats/by-name/s/sherwood-tucker.html

Wow, I wonder how much that cost him? I found a post listing
Cornerstone Members from 2004 and under the $100K catagory I found
both Linda and her husband as well as Peggy Haag

http://www4.all-usenet-archive.com/File.asp?service=14624

Linda and Sherwood live in Clearwater too ( (727) 736-9415, 2107 Frederic Cir,
Clearwater, FL 33763. I kept looking for someone who might live in
Tampa, but it doesn't seem to be anybody from this side of the bay
working there. Why can't they find a local to work there? Btw, thanks
to all the people who made this info available on the internet ;-P

These fine ladies (NOT) acted in concert to hold a young girl against
her will in April of 2004. The victim's name is Samantha Bowein. I met
Samantha (a really cute girl), her father is Hector Bowein, a long
time Sea Org person. Samantha's parents divorced years ago and
Samantha, who lived with her Mom in NY, made the mistake of coming to
Clearwater to visit her father. He immediately put her to work as a
recruiter in Ybor and, since she wasn't allowed to stay with him at SO
berthing, he stuck her in stanky living conditions with (according to
Sam) the Deputy E.D of the Tampa Org (over on Habana Avenue). One
night, while Samantha, only 18, hung around the streets of Ybor,
closely guarded by the other recruiters, she tried to make an escape.
But the problem was that Peggy was holding Samantha's purse and
without her ID in her wallet Samantha couldn't leave. When she went
into the org to demand her purse, the 3 witches screamed at her until
Samantha was doubled over in tears and then a big burly guy (we called
him Crocodile--for his short arms) tossed her in a car and drove
away--never to be seen again.

It was after Samantha disappeared that I got even more interested in
this CULT and who these creeps across the street were. They don't
realize that we're not busy all the time, so we hang out looking
across the street to see what they're up to now.

The real peach of the Ybor Org is their ace recruiter Matt Argall.
He's a balding 20 something geek who still lives with his parents and
dresses like he slept in his clothes and is pretty good at pulling in
the "raw meat." He's such an anti-social freak that he chats up the
mark, gets them to follow him back to the Org and is in such a hurry
to get his "stat", he runs ahead of them, signals to Ruby, Peggy or
Linda, then blows back out the door to get more meat.

Matt is a loser with a capital L, he spends every night walking the
dark streets of Ybor in search of raw meat. A lot of people in Ybor
City think he's a male hooker by the way he hangs around on dark
street corners. He used to be the head of the Scientology front group,
CCHR, in Clearwater and is a totally indoctrinated zombie. Compared to
his previous "big shot status" of such a fine organization, he now
spends his time being chased off private property by security guards
at the Centro Ybor Mall. When not recruiting, he seems to be looking
for love on the internet. I'm pretty sure this is him
http://www.imatchup.com/views/profile_view.html?id=288989 but it's
such a creepy picture I can't be 100 per cent certain, but I figured
that since he listed his profession as "sales" that this must be how
he explains his job as cult recruiter.

I've talked to Matt and he's a very strange dude. His father is a long
time Scientologist and as it turns out, a chiropracter by the name of
Richard Argall (131 North Garden Avenue #100, Clearwater FL 33755
(727) 447-4647) When searching the net I found that he had some
questionable partnerships with both Bennetta Slaughter and Dr. Minkoff
of Lisa McPherson case

http://www.whyaretheydead.net/lisa_mcpherson/min.txt

And even though Scientology is supposed to make you more ethical, in 2002,
Argall was sanctioned by the Florida State authorities from the Dept.
of Health ( a record of the disciplinary action is here:

http://www.doh.state.fl.us/mqa/enforcement/discipline_reports/discipline_report_fo_02_05_13.pdf

Even though the cult is supposed to make you more able, he was
forced to take out a business loan in 2003 to keep his scam going

http://www.sba.gov/loans/businessdetail/output/2003/busfl.html

His mother is a scieno too with waist length greasy grey hair. Her name is
"Dr." France Carpentier. She works with her husband at his Family Life
Health Center. She's from Quebec, Canada and scammed people there as a
chiropracter for 7 years prior to coming to Clearwater in 1988. She
and her husband live at 5 Birdie Ln, Palm Harbor, FL 34683 (727)
736-6998 and their email (famil...@intnet.net) ,( I even checked
out the ISP and found that like most of the con artists in scientology
is handled by the unindicted co-conspirator in Snow White, George
Pilat's webhosting service). (Matt's brother, Jason, looks like a
con-man in the training. I found this on him:

http://www.callcentersindia.com/showall.php?value1=12046_Fed_UP_with_failed_business_ventures

What a family!

We see this same group every day and occasionally, on weekends, we see
some strange people who don't really seem to know what to do hanging
around out front trying to talk to people coming down the sidewalk.

Everybody in the neighborhood is pissed off at Jack Shiver (who owns
the building they're in) for renting to them. The good thing about
them being there is that they've managed to harass people walking on
their side of the street so much that everybody crosses over to our
side of the street which means more business for us :-).

They keep putting more and more signs out front, but I think Code
Enforcement made them remove some of the signs. Now they have these
little tv trays out front with a red table cloth on it with their
flyers they hand out sitting on top. The tables look more like what
you see at a Psychic Fair---or a palm reader's table, but no crystal
ball.

I heard from the Centro Ybor Mall security guards that they're
constantly having to chase the Scientologists off their property. It's
private property and they bothered the mall visitors so much that
they're banned from recruiting there. According to the guards, the
Scientologists ignore the warnings and keep sneeking back on the
property when they think the guards aren't looking, but Ybor has
security cams everywhere so they know how often the recruiters sneak
back in.

I still wonder what happened to Samantha and wonder if she's ok. Then
I think about how Peggy spends her days roaming around the campus of
the junior college that's one block away. I hate that she's trying to
snag some college kid who doesn't know any better. They don't know
about Samantha or the 3 witches that kept her against her will.

That's the end of my first post about the Scientologists in my
neighborhood. I don't know that I'll post again---I could get in
trouble at my job if the Scientologists figure out who I am. If I see
anything else that might be of interest to the newsgroup, I'll try to
post again.

You posted a number of good websites. Try www.xenu.net. You might be
giving out way too much information. I would read what others here
post about your thread before posting again. Best.

So what business does this guy work for, a private investigator firm?
Two things don't seem to go together for me:

1) the thoroughness of the research
2) the "I'm just the guy across the street" valence

A very intersting post, although I don't agree with posting peoples'
home addresses. No reason for that.

Me neither. I'm suspecious of posting home addresses. He's either
enfatuated with the cos gals or the subject or dosen't really know
scientology. Maybe he shoud search Osa Babes. That's why I suggested

That post dosen't look legit. Either he isn't street smart with Co$ or
he has a problem with reality.

Across the street? Posting from ground zero is suspecious, but not
from co$. The rest of us know the true meaning of cloudy vs clear.
Co$ is cloudy.

Welcome to ars Sardis!

Excellent, informative post regarding the Ybor org. Looks like the cult is
sinking fast and for obvious reasons. Thanks for sharing so much
information. I think that you qualify for exemplary org watch recognition as
described on operation Clambake! Looks like they already picked up on your
post:

Susan....maybe he has job security, maybe not. Have you ever been
connected to scientology? They can cost one a job. It's not good
common sense to rag on the guys across the street from where you work.

Admirable, but that's why I suggested www.xenu.net

Only if it's a PI firm that serves chicken wings.

And I agree with you, Jeff, about posting home addresses. There's no
call for that.

Yes, it was an odd post. I don't like to see people's home addresses
here either. I can't think of one good reason for it.

It was an odd post. Either he's not well informed about fair gaming or
dosn't care about his job. Just hope he learns quickley about what
he's up against. Uterly ruin them is what I think LRH said about all
critics of scientology. Cool eh? Ron and Tom the Nut!!!

I think that Sardis Sox knows very well what it was doing in posting
personal details. The composition style indicates someone with more
than average presentation skills, and reminds me of some older postings
from an individual in the Clearwater area from say 1998-1999. I am not
going to "name names", but anyone who read ARS in that time period
should have a clue (which is all I have).

The valence is preposterous on its face. This person has "connections"
to the kult having nothing to do with being across the street from the
Tampa Org. It's a red herring.

"Sardis" is the ancient capital of Lydia (700 BC) in Turkey, for what
that's worth.

Sardis Sox is connected to someone in the kult - probably family or a
close associate who was or is posted to the Tampa Org - and is likely a
kult apostate (as they characterize "critic") itself.

Many readers should have the first clue about Who Sardis Sox is, if I do
, since many were and probably are associated with the poster.

IMO, YMMV, of course.
