How do we stop the fighting? It's quite simple. If you dont want to be
attacked, dont draw back.
Love,
Chris
I hope you succeed in trying to make this newsgroup more civilized,
Christian.
But you will be attacked rather sooner than later for just having
posted that you want fighting to end.
It sure doesn't harm to remind people that they should be civilized
and not like wild apes fighting for the coconut.
Barbara Schwarz
I find issue based discussions based on observations and facts much
more interesting than those who try to win arguments via character
assassination. I don't pretend to be perfect on that count, but
issue based discussions are more productive. It is really difficult,
when some attack your character rather than your argument, to withhold
lashing back.
Funny analogy, Barbara. <grins>
And, thank you Barbara. You speak the truth. Civilized peoples must work to
remain civilized. One of the better ways to remind people about it is to act
as a civilized example, one's self. Every movement starts with a beginning.
The giant oak begins life as a small acorn.
Mutual trust is a good way to begin. Mutual trust is the firmest building
block in all human relationships. Without it, the whole structure comes
down.
Love,
Chris
I noticed too that you try to stay away from personal attacks, Husk.
That is why I read your postings.
And on ARS people do not just attack characters but also the status of
minds or body features, which really reminds to bad junior high school
games.
Barbara Schwarz
You are welcome, Chris

Right.

That is a nice thought.

Absolutely true.
Hope you stay around here and post more often that people can also
respectfully disagree and that there is no need
for defamation, lies, personal assaults.
If nothing helps, try to collect 5 Dollars from anybody who violates
these rules. ;)

Right you are....but sometimes it's very difficult to ignore lies and
not want to set the record straight. That's how the trolls and
others bullbait you into a never-ending flame war...so it's best to
NEVER FEED THE TROLLS.
Maybe these words of Aaron Saxton will help us all mind our manners,
our willpower and our priorities better....
"Now I am going to go off and fight the real enemy here - THE SEA
ORGANIZATION AND SCIENTOLOGY.
"I suggest everyone else stop farting around with paranoia and gossip
and get to the job at hand.
"I will not be around forever, just the next few months to get done
what I promised and then whoever wants to start whatever can. But can
we all agree regardless of opinion that there is a window of
opportunity here and this Dev-T gossip and second guessing is WASTING
everyones valuable time."
Aaron Saxton
Heh. ARS has been famous (or infamous) for its flame wars and feuds for
over a decade. We don't take prisoners.
I'd recommend a couple of things. Start a killfile so you can do your own
personal disconnect from those posters who really annoy you, and start
posting the kind of stuff you'd like to read.
Oh, and see sig.

Fuck off, asshole!
And have a nice day!
You always fail to impress, Skip Press.

I was about to agree with the gentleman.
Larry
Now, that's funny. I hope he gets it.

There was a little girl who had a little curl
Right in the middle of her forehead;
And when she was good, she was very, very good,
And when she was bad she was much more interesting
And lots of fun to be with.

If only the good were clever,
If only the clever were good,
Then the world would be better than ever,
We possibly thought that it could.
But alas it is seldom or ever,
That people behave as they should;
The good are so rude to the clever,
The clever so harsh to the good.
That is a new revelation, Andrew. I didn't knew you like bad girls.
Barbara Schwarz
Brave changes their life to the better something cowards don't do.
Brave carry the flag of courage high and cowards carry the tail of
fears between their legs.
Cowardice don't achieves any positive changes in life something
courage do.
It's because of the trolls.

I think all women are bad girls at heart, Barbara.
Fortunately.

I was always on Santa's good girl's list, Andrew. Not on RB's but
Santa's good girls' list and the last one is the important one. :)
Barbara Schwarz
Satisfied women by men babble as little girls.
You're right, a.r.s. is about Scientology. However, Scientology has a
written policy of ad hominem attack, and Scientologists are taught
that this is a valid way to refute an argument, so you're likely to
see some of that here.
A.r.s. is also USENet; there is no sheriff and each must learn to make
their own kill file.
