Jewish communists Jacek Rozanski, was the head of the Secret Police. Jacob
Berman was the Politboro commander and chief of the Office of State Security, and
all or almost all the department heads were Jews. Minc, Specht (Olszewski) and
Spychalski. were commissars who ordered the murder or deportation tens of thousands
of Catholic Poles.

Piotr S. Wandycz of Yale University wrote, "The average Pole could not but notice
in the Stalinist era that the two most powerful men in the country--Berman and
Minc--were both Jewish as was the dreaded security official Rozanski." (N.Y. Review

Many Jews in the Communist party apparatus in Poland changed their names to
Polish ones like General Romkowski, Colonel Rozanski, Capt. Studencki and Lt.
