According to Auditor magazine #287, page 3, Scientology is now
ennobling some of its adherents with the aristocratic title of
"Duke". The following Hubbard quote is given: "These are the
Dukes of the Auditor Elite, the Saint Hillers. One joins the
clique only by hard work and great results." -- and a photo is
shown of one of these "Dukes", above the headline "DESTINED TO BE
A DUKE" (shouldn't she be called a "Duchess"?). Unfortunately no
info is given as to whether these ASHO/SHSBC "Dukes" are to be
addressed as "Your Ladyship" / "Your Lordship" or "Your Grace",
whether one should make a low bow or curtsey towards them instead
of shaking their hands, and whether or not they intend to try to
crash Prince Charles' royal coronation wearing the proper attire
of ermine robes and coronets with strawberry leaves. Also no
info
on whether these Dukedoms are hereditary, or what the rules of
succession are. I think they should go further and institute a
whole series of feudal ranks, "Knight", "Baron", "Viscount",
"Count", "Marquis", "Duke", and "Prince" -- it would certainly be
much more colorful than boring grade names like "Class V Auditor"
and "OT 3"! If Scientology became an offshoot of the Society of
Creative Anachronism, just think how much happier a place it
would
be, and how much more fun its followers would have. ;-)

This reminds me of Gene Hackman in "Unforgiven" asserting that Richard
Harris is not in fact "The Duke of Death" but instead is "The Duck".

To the extent of hazard these dukes of the cult
are causing, I'm thankful for all the valuable
information on the multitude of excellent web sites critical of the Co$.
Combined, they all
spell out: "DANGER - DO NOT ENTER -
HIGH VOLTAGE" and "THIS PRODUCT (scn)
HAS BEEN DETERMINED HAZARDOUS TO
YOUR HEALTH" The greatest hazard, is the
constant attempts by the various Co$ Ops to
prevent these warning labels from being posted
and read.
