Then, 2-3 years ago she disappeared from internet. A year go she started writing a blog. Very nice blog. Her blog did NOT contain a single word related to Scientology cult. Nada, niente, nichst, zilch. So, it seemed that she left the cult. Even more, she invited people to start a conversation.
...... So, that’s me. Here is my Blog. Let’s have a conversation.
Love, Mary ......
Some people took her offer seriously. For example Roan. ( see below). She did not engage in the conversation. Three weeks later her blog disappeared from internet.
As far as I know ( and understand ) Scientology teaching, COMMUNICATION is very high on their tone scale.. Some how , it did not work in her case.
I think she is not Scientologist anymore ... therefore she is not able to communicate... So, I do understand her very well.
Or, perhaps, she is still a Scientologist under the skin, and David Miscavige told her to delete the blog.
OR ???? (any other ideas) --------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------
I’m all about the truth. The truth on issues like politics, economy, religion, relationships, philosophy, cultures, conspiracies…you get the idea, all subjects we are NOT supposed to discuss if we want to maintain good relationships with others. But the ‘truth’ is not always easy to see. Most of the time, we are on a journey, in the middle of a conversation, still gathering enough information, to learn about that truth. It’s a mistake to think that what we know today is the end of the journey. Most often, the conversation we have today only unmasks another question. As long as I am willing to have that next conversation, I know I will eventually arrive. That is the purpose of this blog; to have those conversations.
Most recently, I’ve been a lobbyist in the Florida legislature and that has taught me the most about civilized discourse, how to propose a new idea and educate people about those ideas. I think it has been the most rewarding thing I have done. I would say that my good friend, Gus, has been the most influential person for me in that arena, taking me under his wing, letting me make mistakes and letting me reap the rewards of success. We went to war together and came out the other side with a lasting friendship.
No matter what else I am doing, I am always a mom and a daughter. Family are there for the whole arc of your life . They see your successes and your failures so they know how hard you’ve worked. Learning how to succeed at home can sometimes be the most challenging because you have to do it everyday. The honor and privilege of those tight relationships outweighs any award I have ever been bestowed.
The other players in my life are: my two best girlfriends, Ashleigh and Bunny, my adviser ‘guru’, Fred, and my 27 year friendship with Alex, who has always inspired me to be better than I was. These are the people who have let me bounce ideas off of, never hold me to positions I have taken one day and changed the next and gently asked me the hard questions that push me past my own shortcomings. People come in and out of your life, but these are the ones I would never trade.
I graduated from New York University with a Bachelor of Fine Art in 1988. Since then I’ve gotten into an awful lot of trouble bucking the system. I just ask too many questions and I keep forgetting to accept the very glossy answers I receive. It’s hard to be this controversial. It’s hard to find your own value in a world where labels are so important and you just don’t fit into the popular ones. It’s hard to pick out the pieces of truth in a media age where so much of the reality we are sold is being manufactured by the people who are selling it. We are practically forced to trust only ourselves anymore. What faith it takes to trust each other once we have been betrayed.
Today I care mostly about social justice issues. But you won’t find me addressing them in the traditional ways. I think we have made very big mistakes by defining our solutions under the banner of Democrat or Republican. If there is one passion I can be labeled for it would be in getting honest about what we are doing at war, to our fellow citizens, our youth, our inmates and our schools. We must understand that whatever we do to them, we do to ourselves. We are a society that is interlocked and we need everyone to do better or we will all suffer.
So, that’s me. Here is my Blog. Let’s have a conversation.

Hi Mary!
Glad to see you’re about truth and social justice.
What do you think about the Anonymous movement, fighting for justice against the CoS?
Can you say truthfully what prompted you to harass peaceful picketers, as you mention in your blog?
You do write well.
Best Wishes. 4. Bill Says: January 30, 2009 at 3:39 pm
Hello Mary,
First, may I say that you look healthy and beautiful. I remember seeing you on videos from your Scientiology days, harassing picketers. I am glad that you blew Scientology and I hope you are enjoying your new found freedom. Physically, you now look so much healthier now.
I hope that you have found peace in your new life away from Scientology. I hope that this freedom it has allowed you to find your true self. I hope that this freedom has made you a nicer person.
I wish you well and I hope that some day, you will be willing to have some dialogue with people like Mark Bunker, Tory Christman, or perhaps even Bob Minton if he is still around.
Mark Bunker posted a video on his WOG Blog at X…tv.com directed at you. It is worth viewing if you can take a few minutes to do so. Personally, I was touched by it. I think Mr. Bunker is someone who you can trust. He and Tory Christman have become friends and he has not violated her trust in the slightest. Mr. Bunker is a good man with strong moral values.
Good luck to you Mary and take care. 5. Roan Says: January 30, 2009 at 8:30 pm
Dear Mary,
Great blog! I’d like to extend to you my personal invitation to come over and start posting on our Operation Clambake message board. Folks are sure you’d have a lot to contribute!
Contact me and I’ll get you going!

Well, I wish I had done my homework before posting on this blog above.
So, Mary is working for Thomas Wright of “Emory Capital” as a lobbyist. Thomas Wright is a $cientologist and he is an OT. If Mary had actually blown the org, there would be no way Thomas Wright would have a relationship with her, personal or otherwise. He would have disconnected from her.
It is quite possible that the story about her blowing the org was a typical OSA deception aimed at diverting attention away from the PR disaster she turned out to be. 7. Bill Says: January 31, 2009 at 9:02 pm
Hrmmm I just noticed my 1st post was deleted. That is so typical of a $cientologist. 8. bed Says: February 1, 2009 at 1:48 am
“Let’s have a conversation.” Cool. I’m in.
I’ve read your other posts (can’t believe you are single: trust me, you have many babe qualities, if I was single…) and especially your blog post about the whole world watching.
OK, yeah, you were pretty silly. Mostly it was entertaining more than evil. Now the group you were fronting? Pretty damn evil. Not the Tech. Not the people, but the management more than anything (crashing stats tell no lie).
Look, this blog is something of a joke unless you confront openly what is going on with a certain applied religious philosophy and your views/evolution with it, etc.
You say you “are all about the truth.” OK, go for it.

« Underneath The Rotting Skin Of Our CultureThe Honeymoon Phase: Every Relationship Has One »What If The World Was Watching? By marypanton By: Mary Panton
Ever get the sneaking suspicion that someone is watching you so you sit up a little straighter, smile a little broader and generally upgrade your manners across the boards?
The internet has become a sort of 24/7 watchdog on our culture. I think its a good thing and a bad thing. Anything you do or say in a single moment can live forever on the net. People report back on your behavior at a party, replete with uploaded mobile photos to evidence the occasion. I read an article in the paper this week about a website on college campuses devoted to rumors, gossip and rants that is growing rapidly in popularity. Juicycampus.com describes itself as free

Sounds like a good possibility. Some of the stuff she said was pretty inane even if it was heartfelt. And many of the responses were caustic enough - toward the cult at least - that I'm surprised she allowed them to be posted. Maybe she expected to get ridiculed incessantly if she censored them, and lambasted repeatedly if she didn't, so taking down the blog was the easiest solution.

Suggestive of MO. Can you say interrogation? The truth is not covert, eg., "in the middle of a conversation."
Flowery speech does not equate to truth OR trustin a persons MO. Trust is earned.
Hope all the comments sink, although freedom of speech issues (if not political action committee, ((PAC)) intentions seem to have rained in on the 'truth' patter.

Great poems–really-no shit… organic, sensitive and fresh. Keep at it. 3. Allen Says: January 30, 2009 at 6:29 am

Well, I don't know that it would have barred her from getting dates, but yeah, I think the idea here is that we don't know why she took it down. But some people here and on OCMB are assuming the worst and it just ain't necessarily so.

Oh, I would say that her self-absorbed ramblings, combined with the caustic comments of various people about Scientology, might well have limited her dating possibilities somewhat. Maybe FaceBook would have been a better choice.

I dunno about that, since I'm not that familiar with FaceBook culture, though I fear the worst. Ms. Manners would say, dating is like a job interview. We do not diss our old bosses at the job interview!

What if a guy interested in her saw those manic-psychotic YouTube videos of her bullbaiting Mark B.?
In fact, I think her former boyfriend did see those, and probably some prospective 2-D interests did too. Any date might at least be inspired to give her a lecture on karma, if not smack her around a bit before running away.
In some instances, communication is NOT the universal solvent. ;-)
