What El Con Flubbard attempted to monopolize as Dianetics was actually
created by a psychologist named Korzybski, who called it "abreaction
therapy". Flubbard also took some of his "tech" from the better-know Sigmund
Freud. All Flubbard added was the E-meter, whose inventor he screwed out of
any share of the profits. Had Flubbard been content to promote and ethically
(dictionary definition) market Dianetics, he would have been financially
successful and might have his place alongside Freud in history. But Flubbard
was a fraud and a megalomanical con-man, leading to lives being ruined by
his so-called "church".
