You were on staff and only had 2 hours of auditing?
I am new to this newsgroup. I find it very fascinating. I was a Scientologist and worked on staff for awhile back in Los Angeles around the late seventies. I was promised auditing in exchange for being on staff, but the auditing never appeared. Then one day it was discovered that I smoked marijuana at my home on my own free time. (I never smoked it on staff or ever came to work stoned.) I was informed that I would have to stop smoking weed or I couldn't be a Scientologist. Well that really pissed me off, because I always liked what weed did for me, not to mention various psychedelics such as magic mushrooms. peyote and LSD.
Well to make a long story short, I told them all to go to hell. And I haven't been involved with Scientology since then. But I always felt bad about my decision, since I instinctively KNEW that the tech was valid. So I just spent a lot of time using psychedelics to self-audit and this worked pretty well, as psychedelics do tend to bring the whole track into view. I even erased an engram that was given to me via physical abuse during my childhood. I erased it with help from magic mushrooms. I never agreed with all the bull that LRH said about LSD. My experiences with psychedelics definitely prove him wrong. But it was either give up Scientology or give up smoke and psychedelics. At the time, since psychedelics did more for me than Scientology ever did, I quit Scientology.
But now, I've just discovered the Free Zone! I never imagined that there was anything like this. I've heard rumors, but didn't know where to go. And a couple of days ago, I accidently stumbled on the American & German Free Zone sites through the Clambake website. It felt so wonderful to find out that I wasn't alone. I'm so glad that these people are there. I quickly found some great stuff to download such as the tech briefings and the sector nine book of CBR, and the Scio book by the Pilot and the Excalibur stuff. I also found some cool 'tech' on other sites. I couldn't believe that all this great stuff was available.
Now I have some questions that I would like to ask some of you free-zoners. How do I begin to audit myself? I've only had about two hours of auditing in my whole life. If I buy an E-meter, can I start self-auditing right away? Can I use the Excaliber stuff, or the Scio stuff to do it? Or do I have to have get auditing done by a free-zone auditor first, before I can learn to self-audit? And most important of all, I do not wish to give up smoking pot occasionally, or to quit using an occasional psychedelic. These substances are not like other hard drugs which I do not use. Would a free-zoner still be willing to audit me if I occasionally used these gifts from the Creator? (Of course, I would never come to an auditing session stoned, nor would I ever carry any illegal substances on my person to an auditing session.)
Thanks for any input that you folks can give me on these questions. And thanks for all the great work that some of you are doing to keep Scientology free from the stranglehold of the Church.

:Hehehe... very tasty: clams with mushrooms.
I bet the CoS is really enjoying posts like that one ... REAL religious freedom.
The Internet is the wrost thing ever to happen to the CoS for another reason: the FreeZone - their actual direct COMPETITION - can now keep it together in the face of clammery. And steal members out from under them!
If you wanna hit the CoS in the wallet, don't forget those Free Zone URLs.
(I am not a Free Zoner, I have no personal interest in the Tech. However, the freezoners I've encountered on a.r.s and on IRC have consistently struck me as a much higher class of people than the CoS members I've met there or in real life. If the Co$ started seriously gunning for a net-conected freezone group, I know I would be out there shouting about it and I'm fairly sure that quite a lot of other a.r.s critics would be too.)

Yeah, I like the decision: Scientology, or LSD? Hell, it's pretty obvious to me, too. I'd rather fry my brain than crush it.

Check out alt.clearing.technology. You'll find kindred spirits there. While I don't share your views of the tech, I respect your right to search for the answers. a.r.s. tends to be the place where we pull the Overts of Co$.

OK, you're on your way.

There are plans for free-zone E-meters. Don't spend money on a Co$-approved one - they are overpriced.

I'd recommend asking Ralph Hilton - I understand he's somewhere near Germany. I think he's ralphATatnet.net, or scan a.r.s. and a.c.t. for his posts.

Are you saying the Church of Scientology does not support religious freedom? I wonder what Senator D'Amato would think? <g>

It is exactly that. Aside from a few people who lucked out and got into TTCs (full time training) I never knew anybody who got substantial auditing while on staff. All they give you is sec checks.

Free Zone e-meters have existed for years. Contact Holistic Clearing, Box 4326, San Rafael, CA, 94913.
I suspect that the Free Zone tech was stolen to design the new Quantum meter. Its principal advantage over traditional meters is the ability to read properly in the presence of high TA, which FZ meters have had for years. Again, you can find people on ACT who know way more about this subject than I do.
The Alphametrics meter costs about $900 new, roughly 1/5th the cost of a cult meter.

Personally I'd recommend working with a professional at least until you've run the grades. If you aren't in good shape in these areas - communication, problems, overts(misdeeds), ARC breaks (upsets), serv facs (self-justification) - I don't think you can run solo with any success. I would also recommend against trying it without some training by an experienced counselor, but these are your choices.

Ralph's a good guy. I second this.

I think he's saying 'Where is that check you promised?'
Hi back. How'd you get on deepwell? I thought you had to be the "I could tell you who I work for, but then I'd have to shoot you" type to get an account there. So it's gone public? When did that happen?
>But now, I've just discovered the Free Zone! I never imagined > that there was anything like this.
You really had me going until you said this!!! I was all ready to explain why the drugs and such weren't a good idea. But really that would be pointless. Really you're just out to smear Free Zoners. Yes???
>How do I begin to audit myself?
But ... why audit yourself if chemicals are superior? What is it you'd want to get out of auditing? I suppose you've started to hook me again here with this serious question.
Gosh. I'm so tempted to ask if you are now or have ever been an OSA troll. The question doesn't seem to have seriously occurred to others. But maybe you're for real. It's hard to tell.
