Freewinds sails test run
26 Jun, 2008, 23:52 (GMT -04:00)
WILLEMSTAD - After two months of being out of order, the Freewinds
sailed a test run yesterday and today. For almost two months the ship
belonging to the Scientology Church stayed in the dok for a thorough
revision and a touch up.
Even before the old ship landed in the dok, it was already known that
the air on board was poisonous because it had already started removing
the asbestos panels. The blue asbestos on board was partly removed, the
remaining part encapsuled to prevent any further damage. The ship, which
has Bonaire and Curaçao as its home-base, is primarily used for courses
of the church society. In the meantime the ship has moored at the
Matheywerf as before.
I bet you can get a discounted ticket right about now for the next
cruise, but I guess you have to be a member of the cult...I mean group.

Good morning, all!
I just spoke to someone on island a few moments ago and have been
advised Freewinds is, indeed, docked in Bonaire today.
Also heard she might have already pumped about four truckloads off her
ship and off to be dumped.
The more things change, the more they remain the same.
Anyone know if the switch was actually made from salt/sea water to fresh
water in the toilet systems on board the Freewinds? Wouldn't that still
be an issue for the dumping aspect onto Bonaire's lands/waters??
I wonder how effective the asbestos removal process was on the
Freewinds??
Anyone inspect her and give her a seal of approval for occupancy and
sailing and docking on Bonaire??
So many questions....once again. cb"

Hey Carol, was nice meeting you and Joe. We hope to be back in November
then about same time May/June next year. We love the Cont redeye flight.
This Freewinds thing is such a joke, and as a non-member I do remain
concerned about my health but more for the locals who perform services
while the boat is in port.

Amen, Patrick!
I hear she is in port today....yup, she's back!! Heard multiple trucks
have pumped tanks full and transported away inland, as well.
I wonder how we can determine exactly "how" all of the asbestos was
removed ("if") or if they simply stopped stripping it out and "sealed"
off what was left on board.....have to do some checking.
I hope we will see you and meet your wife next year! We can't swing
November 2008 but will return in May/June 2009 for certain. More towards
June, I think. Ayo! Carole "

Well, Carol, it seems no one is keeping track??? Or at least anyone who
is reporting on this board....
Agree with Patrick re: concerns about those islanders who are working on
board or in the dumping process..."

was gone when we went to breakfast at City Cafe. Dump and run?"

This is confusing. According to this post:

"The Freewinds 'is being overhauled' and 'will be back in service in 2010'."
But clearly, people in Bonaire saw the boat, so whatever was the source
of the communiqué reported in Tages-Anzeiger, it seems it was wrong.

Update...Freewinds pulled back into port last night. This morning, Jibe
City had a van there to pick up people, as well as another tourist bus
but I could not see the name on the second one. They had 2 divers in the
water in port, probably working on the ship. Several people got off and
were dressed like normal pod people. The tanker was there to take
sewage, but was not loading while we saw it. Honestly, if you did not
know what the Freewinds was about, it would appear to be a normal cruise
ship, albeit a small one."

We went by again in the early afternoon and saw only one crew member
getting off, but lots of people going on and off. There was even one guy
standing on deck video taping Bonaire. Carole...they carried stuff, but
it was beach bags and hats. Very odd. I swear it looked like a small
cruise ship.
The Jibe City van was full, we did not stay long enough this morning to
see the other van fill up. During lunch, we did see two different
tankers loading up the refuse to take to the landfill/dump area. Not
sure how many total for today."

"Tribs" eyewitness (account) points:
1.) Saw one crew member getting off (Freewinds)
2.) Lots of people going "on and off"
3.) One guy on deck videotaping Bonaire
4.) The Jibe City Van *was full*

5.) WE DID SEE TWO DIFFERENT TANKERS LOADING UP THE REFUSE TO TAKE TO
THE LANDFILL/DUMP AREA. NOT SURE HOW MANY TOTAL FOR TODAY."
Freewinds in other words is *still* polluting Bonaire waterway
landfills. Scientology PR-web claims that environmental concerns for the
Bonaire area waterways and landfills is paramount as an ecosystem
concern. Can't find that page buried under tons of other "Freewinds"
similar search string pages but I assume that page still exists if
anyone can dig it up to paste under #5 (eyewitness) above to emphasize
Scientology's lying ass hypocrisy.

Hi, Jeanine,
She usually comes in two or three times per week and stays one or two
nites and floats back and forth.
I hope the "normal" looking folks aren't disposing of anything on the
other side of the island! LOL. Were they carrying any packages or bags??
Hmmm.
I have no idea if they were or not...simply my wild imagination going
crazy again.
Scientologists going to Jibe City?? Interesting, indeed.
I think she offloads one tanker truck per hour if my memory serves me
well. (waste water) But.....cb

Thankyou Admiral! I hope you and some of your "Loyal Officers" are
able to get some photos and video footage on YouTube.
Oh boy, this age of internet video justice is just the unraveling of
the Scientology movement.
I and so many other Scientologists think of our time on the Freewinds
(Failwinds) fondly, since when you are in the cult, it is your home!
There are conflicting emotions of the good people stuck in the
movement, trapped by the Hubbard doctrines to their roles in the
Hubbard game.
The people I found good people, but so tenaciously stuck in Hubbard's
web of ideas and rules.
I urge ex Sea Org members who have recently defected from the
Freewinds to speak up and share all the news they can!
Thanks again Admiral Marcolf and your Loyal Officers of the Freewinds/

After being busted from my probably favorite position on staff in the
cult, trainng staff, that was July/August 1981, I hung around another
22 years, slipping up the organizatonal ladder into the vacancies,
almost one for one, of people who defected or who soon defected out of
the Sea Organization, until finally about 1993-95, it really sunk in
to me how everybody (long term staffers) seem to quit, eventually! I
finally quit quit for real, March 2003. It's a slow process easing
oneself out of the mess.
